摘要： Provided is an image forming apparatus including: a first sensor which is provided on a transportation path of a sheet and detects a first passage time of the sheet; a second sensor which is provided at a position different from the position of the first sensor in a transportation direction of the sheet and a direction perpendicular to the transportation direction and detects a second passage time of the sheet; a skew determination unit which determines a skew amount of the sheet based on the first passage time detected by the first sensor and the second passage time detected by the second sensor; and a correction control unit which controls correction of a skew of the sheet on the basis of the skew amount determined by the skew determination unit.

摘要： In an image transferring apparatus of the invention, a relay unit, which is provided in a main body frame and includes a conveyance switching mechanism to eject a sheet on which an image is fixed by a fixing section to a sheet ejection section or to switch back the sheet in the middle of ejection, can be pulled out, and a automatic duplex unit to guide the switched back sheet to an image forming section is mounted to the main body frame to be capable of being detached. An intermediate unit to guide the sheet switched back by the relay unit, together with the fixing section, is fixed and placed in the main body frame. The intermediate unit is provided with a guide member to be capable of being opened and closed between a guide position for the switched back sheet and an open position opposite to the guide position. The guide member always receives a spring force toward the open position, and when the automatic duplex unit is mounted to the main body frame, the guide member is moved to the guide position by contact with a pressing body of the automatic duplex unit side, and when the automatic duplex unit is detached from the main body frame, the guide member is opened to the open position by the spring force.

The opening sensor detects whether the document feeder opens the document table. The operation unit receives the input of information indicating processing content for the image data. The first memory stores first configuration. The second memory stores second configuration corresponding to the information input to the operation unit. The control unit changes, if the opening sensor detects the opening of the document table, the second configuration stored in the second memory to the first configuration.

In an image forming apparatus that reverses a sheet conveyed in a first conveying direction for leading the sheet to a predetermined discharge tray side by switching back the sheet in a second conveying direction for leading the sheet into a reversing and conveying path, if a sheet is simultaneously detected by both a first sensor that detects a sheet present in an intermediate conveying unit and a second sensor that detects a sheet present in another sheet conveying unit adjacent to an upstream side in the second conveying direction of the intermediate conveying unit, it is determined that the sheet is present across a boundary between the intermediate conveying unit and the other sheet conveying unit.

摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises: an intermediate transfer belt having a belt surface on which a toner image is formed while the belt surface is moved and transferring the toner image that has been formed on the belt surface onto a sheet to be fed by a feed section; a resist roller pair that is disposed at a position on the upstream side from a transfer position at which the toner image that has been formed on the belt surface is transferred onto the sheet in the sheet feeding direction and performs a resist operation before the sheet has been fed to the transfer position as well as constitutes the feed section; a belt surface sensor that is disposed at a position on the downstream side from the transfer position in the belt surface moving direction such that the sheet moving distance from the sheet holding position between the resist roller pair to the position becomes shorter than the length of the sheet in the feeding direction and detects the sheet on the belt surface; and a control unit that allows the feed section to stop the sheet feeding operation at the time when the belt surface sensor detects the sheet.

When the sheet is conveyed to the transfer position according to restart of the registration rollers, the sheet is conveyed by the registration rollers at sheet conveying speed different from the process speed before the leading end of the sheet reaches the transfer position and is conveyed at the process speed after that.
