The detector has a second detector to detect an off hook of another terminal. The transmitter sets a predetermined flag on the basis of the detection of the predetermined hooking operation and, when the off hook is detected, if the predetermined flag has been set, the dial signal according to the dial number stored in the memory is transmitted.

摘要： There is disclosed a control circuit for switching between a facsimile unit and an automatic answering telephone unit. A current detecting circuit with satisfactory linearity between the mutually insulated input and output sides is used for detecting a DC current on a communication line, indicating a communication state of the telephone unit and also for detecting an AC signal, representing a speech communication signal and used for recording an incoming message in the automatic answering telephone unit. This structure allows to insulate the recording circuit and the facsimile circuit from the communication line without a transformer, thereby reducing cost and dimension of the apparatus.

摘要： In a single line communication apparatus for both telephone and data (e.g., facsimile), the communication line is switched from a telephone to a data communication unit when an incoming data call is received in response to an indication for data communication from the telephone. The communication line is monitored to detect the occurrence of a non-aural terminal calling tone (CNG) within a predetermined time period. Upon detection of the CNG tone within the predetermined time period, a non-aural called party discrimination signal (CED) is transmitted to indicate the start of a data communication.

摘要： When detecting a signal from a communication network, signal detection is performed corresponding to the characteristics of a communication apparatus of a communication partner and the characteristics of the communication network, and to prevent erroneous detection of a signal due to a voice or the like. More specifically, using a tone detection function of a modem of a communication unit, a control unit determines if a signal of at least one period has been detected in accordance with detection parameters, i.e., a frequency, a level, and an on-time and an off-time, which correspond to a tone signal to be detected and which can deal with variations in the characteristics of the signal. When a signal of at least one period has been detected, changed detection parameters are calculated and set by adding margins to the frequency, the level, and the on-time and the off-time of the detected signal, and a signal of at least one period is again detected using the newly set detection parameters.
