Abstract: A first controller manages first mapping information for accessing data stored in a storage area, management of which is assigned to the first controller, and second mapping information for accessing data stored in a predetermined storage area, management of which is assigned to a second controller. The second controller, when having executed garbage collection on the predetermined storage area, changes mapping information to post-migration mapping information for accessing data after being migrated by the garbage collection. The first controller acquires the post-migration mapping information from the second controller, and updates the second mapping information using the post-migration mapping information when information in the second mapping information and is to be used for accessing the data in the predetermined storage area has been updated accompanying the garbage collection when the first controller accesses the data in the predetermined storage area after the garbage collection by using the second mapping information.

Abstract: A volume to which a storage function is applied is migrated without copying data written to a volume as a migration object between computers while maintaining functionality of the storage function. A plurality of computers are accessibly connected to each of one or more physical storage devices. Each computer migrates ownership of the volume as the migration object to a computer as a destination. When the migration object volume from a first computer to a second computer is an owner volume to which a storage function is applied, the storage function requiring control data for I/O of data, the control data being metadata other than domain mapping data (indicating a relationship between a volume region and a storage region and being metadata for the owner volume), in place of or in addition to the domain mapping data.

Abstract: Provided is a storage system that performs inter-node movement of parity and reconfiguration of a stripe when a node configuration is changed. The storage system includes a plurality of nodes and a management unit, in which the nodes are targets for data write and read requests, form a stripe by a plurality of data stored in different nodes and parity generated based on the plurality of data, and store the parity of the stripe to which the data under the write request belongs in a node different from the plurality of nodes that store the plurality of data so as to perform redundancy; and the management unit transmits, to the node, an arrangement change request to perform the inter-node movement of the parity and the reconfiguration of the stripe when the node configuration is changed.

Abstract: One or a plurality of physical storage devices that provide a physical storage area are connected to first and second computers. The computer updates metadata indicating the address correspondence relationship between the logical address of the volume and the physical address of the physical storage area in the write processing performed based on a write request designating the volume. The first computer copies the metadata to the second computer while receiving the write request. When the address correspondence relationship indicated by the copied metadata portion is changed during copying of the metadata, the first computer updates the metadata portion and copies the metadata portion to the second computer.

Abstract: A scale-out storage system includes a plurality of computer nodes each of which has a memory and a processor, and a storage apparatus. The computer nodes have one or more redundancy groups each of which is a group for metadata protection. Each of the one or more redundancy groups includes two or more of the computer nodes including a primary node being a primary computer node and a secondary node being a secondary computer node, and a failover is performed from the primary node to the secondary node. The memory of the primary node has stored therein metadata related to the redundancy group and to be accessed for control. The metadata is redundantly stored in the memory of the primary node and the memory of the secondary node.

Abstract: A storage system having high performance and high reliability includes a non-volatile storage device, a storage controller configured to control data to be read and written from and to the storage device using a storage function; and a volatile memory. In collecting a free area of the memory, the storage controller executes a base image saving method of writing in the storage device in units of storage areas having a plurality of logs and collecting a free area, and a garbage collection method of writing in the storage device in units of logs and collecting a free area.

Abstract: An object is to construct a storage system with a configuration with a high degree of freedom while ensuring a certain fault tolerance. The storage system includes a plurality of nodes that process an I/O processing request of data. The node has a storage device and a processor that performs the I/O processing on the storage device. The processor constitutes a data redundancy configuration in which data stored in different storage devices is combined as a data set. A management unit for managing the storage system performs a fault tolerance calculation of calculating fault tolerance information for a failure of each component by using component information that is information of a component including at least the and the storage device, and by using data redundancy configuration information related to the data redundancy configuration, and determines a data arrangement by applying the data redundancy configuration related to the calculated fault tolerance information.
