Abstract: An update method in which a computer updates data stored in a first storage device by copying a plurality of files stored in the first storage device to a second storage device and writing the files updated in the second storage device back to the first storage device, the plurality of files constituting a part of a database. The update method includes a query determination for determining whether a query for requesting writing to one of the files stored in the second storage device is based on a cluster key of the database, low-frequency file identification for identifying a file having a low writing frequency among the files stored in the second storage device, and write-back for writing the file having the low writing frequency identified in the low-frequency file identification to the first storage device.

Abstract: A query processing device that reduces the calculation cost for checking whether a query complies with restrictions. A query dividing section generates subqueries by dividing an input query for each of a plurality of organizations. A score computing section computes an organization score by evaluating an organization-specific risk that is the risk of determination that the subquery does not comply with organization rules of the organization corresponding to the subquery, on the basis of history information relating to a determination track record resulting from determining, regarding each organization, whether or not the input query complies with the organization rules of each organization. A subquery control section sequentially transmits the subqueries to rule check devices in transmission order according to the organization score, and response information is received regarding the subquery from the rule check devices. Whether the input query complies with restrictions is determined by using the response information.

Abstract: Provided are a data management apparatus, a data management system, and a data management method capable of creating an alternative for a useful query when a query for operating a database violates a data handling regulation of the database. When data scheduled to be generated based on the database by the query violates a rule that is the data handling regulation of the database, a data processing server generates an alternative query candidate to replace the query. Abstract: The reliability is improved at a low cost even in a virtualized server environment. The number of spare servers is reduced for improving the reliability and for saving a licensing fee for software on the spare servers. A server system comprises a plurality of physical servers on which a plurality of virtual servers run, a single standby server, a module for detecting an active virtual server, and a module for switching the correspondence of boot disks of virtualization modules for controlling virtual servers to the physical servers. When a physical server fails, the boot disk of the associated virtualization module is connected to a spare server to automatically activate on the spare server those virtual servers which have been active upon occurrence of the failure.
