Abstract: An electric parking brake device for a vehicle, including: a drum brake arranged on a radially inner side of a rim portion; and an electric actuator which enables obtaining a parking brake state by driving the drum brake, the electric actuator being mounted to a side surface of a back plate on an inner side in a vehicle-width direction. An ice and snow accumulation suppressing member (54) including a wall portion (54a), which extends from the back plate to the inner side in the vehicle-width direction while facing an inner peripheral surface of the rim portion (40b) and which is arranged at least below an anchor portion (21), is mounted to an outer peripheral edge portion of the back plate (13). With this configuration, collision of ice and snow refrozen in a wheel with the electric actuator can be prevented.

Abstract: An electric actuator includes an electric motor, a nut (a first screw member), and a screw shaft (a second screw member) threadedly inserted through the nut to be able to advance and retreat. Each of threads of the screw shaft includes two flanks and a crest portion connecting the flanks to each other. Grease is used as a lubricant. A groove portion, which is cut out from the crest portion toward a root portion side, is formed on each of the threads of the screw shaft. Further, a taper surface, which flares becoming circumferentially farther away from the groove portion, is formed on at least a part of each of peripheral edges of each groove portion on flank sides. The electric actuator can promote lubrication of a threadedly engaged portion between the first and second screw members, thereby improving motion conversion efficiency and reducing wear on the threadedly engaged portion.

Abstract: An electric actuator includes a forwardly and reversely rotatable electric motor, a motion conversion mechanism configured to convert rotation of the electric motor into reciprocating linear motion of a screw shaft, an actuator case containing the electric motor and the motion conversion mechanism, and a boot covering a portion of the screw shaft that extends out of the actuator case. A vent is formed on the actuator case. The vent is configured to ventilate a sealingly closed space in the actuator case and the boot. A breathable waterproof member is provided on the vent and a cover member is also provided on the vent. The breathable waterproof member is configured to block entry and exit of water while permitting entry and exit of air. The cover member is configured to cover the vent so as to allow ventilation with outer air.

Abstract: In an electric parking brake device configured in such a way that a parking brake state resulting from pulling of a brake cable is released by loosening the brake cable, the brake cable is formed by twisting together a plurality of wires and the direction of twisting is rotational direction of the nut when the brake cable is pulled. Abstract: An electric actuator including: an electric motor capable of rotating forward and backward; and a motion conversion mechanism configured to convert rotation of the electric motor into reciprocating linear motion of a screw shaft. The motion conversion mechanism including: a nut configured to be rotationally driven by the electric motor; and the screw shaft capable of being threadedly inserted through the nut. A lubricant holding portion having an outer diameter larger than a diameter of a screw hole of the nut and being capable of housing lubricant is formed on an inner periphery of an end of the nut in an axial direction. A lid member configured to cover an opening end of the lubricant holding portion in an axial direction is provided. Thus, an electric actuator can prevent wear at a threaded engagement portion between a nut and a screw shaft by sufficiently lubricating the threaded engagement portion.

Abstract: Provided is an electric parking brake device which enables a service brake that generates a brake force in accordance with an operation input of a vehicle user and a parking brake that generates a brake force with the function of an electric actuator having operation controlled by a control unit to be obtained. The control unit (C) starts to count in response to an end of detection of the service brake by service brake detection means (66) and stops operation of the control unit (C) after an elapse of a first predetermined time from the start of the count. With this configuration, the load on a battery can be reduced by preventing the control unit from being kept activated for a period of time that is longer than necessary.
