In case the number of actually transmitted pages is different from the number of read or received pages stored in the second RAM, the user can select in advance, by a key depression on a keyboard, whether to record both the number of actually transmitted pages and the number of read or received pages stored in the second RAM or to record either one of the numbers, as the number of pages to be recorded on the transmission result list. In case of storing image data of plural pages of original read by a contact sensor in an image memory and collectively transmitting the image data of successive plural pages, stored in the image memory, as one page, judging from the recordable number of lines at the receiving side, a CPU causes a display unit to display both the number of actually transmitted page number and the number of read page included in the transmitted pages.

    摘要: When a plurality of pages of image data are combined into one page of image data for transmission, the direct combination of the image data having different resolutions and the resulting recording of the image data on one record sheet while the image is partially expanded or reduced are prevented. In combining two pages of image data into one page of image data for transmission within a range in which the number of read lines of read image data does not exceed the number of available lines for recording per page at a transmission destination terminal, if the read resolutions of both image data are equal, the two pages of image data are combined into one page of image data for transmission, and if the read resolutions are different, the combination is not conducted and the image data of the respective pages are transmitted as the independent pages of image data. A facsimile apparatus minimizes the possibility of transmission disable due to a full state of a memory when a plurality of pages of image data having short sub-scan lengths stored in the memory are transmitted. The image data acquired by reading a document sheet by a contact sensor 13 is compression-coded by an encoder 103 of a read/write codec device 10 and it is stored in an image memory 6. After a plurality of pages of image data having short sub-scan lengths have been stored in the image memory 6, the image data are combined into one page of image data on a communication protocol and it is transmitted to a transmission destination apparatus through a modem 17 and a network control unit 18. When it is detected that a remaining capacity of the image memory 6 is small, the combination transmission of the image data is canceled and the image data stored in the image memory 6 is immediately read and transmitted.

    摘要: A communication apparatus capable of transmitting image data in a form capable of reducing a running cost is provided. When a plurality of pages of image data to be transmitted can be recorded on one record sheet at a receiving station, a plurality of pages of image data are combined into one page of image data for transmission within a range in which the image data are recorded on one sheet at the receiving station and in such a manner that the plurality of pages of image data are recorded on the record sheet in vertically evenly divided areas. When a plurality of pages of image data to be transmitted can be recorded on one record sheet at the receiving station, main scan lengths of the plurality of pages of image data are made equal and the plurality of pages of image data are combined into one page of image data for transmission within a range in which the image data are recorded on one record sheet at the receiving station and in such a manner that the image data are recorded on the record sheet in evenly divided areas.

    摘要: A facsimile apparatus and a facsimile communication method prevent the termination of communication in error due to memory capacity shortage when confidential communication or relay designation communication is effected by using a sub-address additionally recommended by the CCITT/T.30. When a remaining capacity of an image memory is smaller than a preset threshold, sub-address control information representing the invalidity of the sub-address is stored in sub-address control memory means. As a result, when an initial identification signal or a send command signal is sent to a destination station, a bit indicating that the sub-address is valid is sent without being set. Namely, the invalidity of the sub-address function is informed to the destination station. Thus, the confidential reception or the relay designation reception using the sub-address is not accepted and the termination of the communication in error due to the memory capacity shortage is avoided.
