摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic EL element including a capping layer constituted by two layers consisting of a first capping layer and a second capping layer that has a refractive index that is higher than that of the first capping layer, in order to improve the light extraction efficiency compared with an organic EL element including a capping layer constituted by a single layer. The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent element at least including an anode, a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, an electron transport layer, a cathode, and a capping layer arranged in this order, wherein the capping layer has a structure constituted by two layers consisting of a first capping layer and a second capping layer, a refractive index of the second capping layer is higher than a refractive index of the first capping layer throughout a wavelength range from 450 to 650 nm, and the second capping layer contains an arylamine compound having a specific structure.

摘要: An objective of the invention is to provide an organic EL device that combines various materials of the device and a capping layer composed from a material that absorbs sunlight within the wavelength range of 400 nm to 410 nm to prevent impact on materials inside the organic EL device, has a high light absorption coefficient and a high refractive index to significantly improve light extraction efficiency, has excellent stability, durability and light resistance in a thin film, and has no absorption within the wavelength ranges of blue, green and red, to thereby effectively achieve the characteristics of the various materials of the device. The invention is an arylamine compound having a benzazole structure, and is also an organic EL device including a capping layer containing the arylamine compound and a light-emitting layer containing a host and a phosphorescent dopant.

摘要: [Object] It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic EL device in which various materials for an organic EL device, which is excellent in hole injection/transport performance, electron injection/transport performance, electron blocking performance, stability in a thin film state, and durability, are combined so that properties of each of the materials can be effectively expressed, thereby achieving (1) high light emission efficiency and power efficiency, (2) a low light emission start voltage, (3) a low practical driving voltage, and particularly (4) a long lifetime.[Solving Means] There is provided an organic EL device, including at least an anode, a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode in the stated order, the organic EL device being characterized in that the hole transport layer contains an arylamine compound represented by the following general formula (1), and the electron transport layer contains a compound having a benzoazole ring structure represented by the following general formula (2). (In the formula, Ar1 to Ar5 may be the same or different from each other, and represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic aromatic group. Ar6 to Ar8 may be the same or different from each other, and represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic aromatic group. n1 represents 0, 1, or 2.
