A contactless power supply device includes a handle attachable and detachable with respect to a main body case at least partially covering a main body part including an electric unit, a power transmission module to be provided to protrude from the main body case, and having a power transmission coil electrified based on power supplied to the main body part, a power reception module housed in the handle to face the power transmission module when the handle is fixed to the main body case, and having a power reception coil contactlessly supplied with power via the power transmission coil, and a detection unit provided in the handle, driven based on the power supplied via the power reception module, and configured to detect whether the handle is being gripped.

Provided is a compact secondary coil module that can be easily mounted in a terminal device side unit. The secondary coil module whose power for use in charging a storage battery by a contactless charging technique is supplied via a primary coil, includes the storage battery, a charging control circuit controlling charging of the storage battery, a tubular core made of magnetic material and covering an outer circumferential face of at least one of the storage battery and the charging control circuit, and a wire made of conductive material, the wire being connected to the charging control circuit and wound around the outer circumferential face of the core.

There is provided a secondary coil module receiving supply of electric power via a primary coil by contactless power transfer technique. The secondary coil module includes a core formed of magnetic material, the core having a tubular portion in the form of a tube and a bottom portion formed integral with the tubular portion in such a manner as to close an opening of the tubular portion formed at one axial end portion thereof, a storage battery accommodated within an accommodation space provided inside the tubular portion and configured to be charged by the power via the primary coil and a coil winding disposed outside the core and on the side of the bottom portion of the core.

A noncontact power supply system includes a power supply device having a primary coil acting as an electromagnetic induction coil for a noncontact power supply system, and a power receiving device having a secondary coil. The primary coil has a primary core and a winding wire. The secondary coil has a secondary core and a winding wire. The primary core includes a base segment, a pair of extension segments, and a pair of opposite segments. The pair of opposite segments are arranged to allow a space to be defined therebetween. The winding wire is wound at least around the pair of opposite segments. The secondary coil is arranged between the pair of opposite segments during power supply. The power receiving device includes a magnetic sheet that is in tight contact with an end surface of the secondary core and has an area larger than that of the end surface.
