A load balancing method is provided: A load balancer obtains an invalidation notification, where the invalidation notification includes an identifier of an invalid object on a target side, and the invalid object includes an invalid interaction node, an invalid session group on an interaction node, or an invalid session in a session group; the load balancer broadcasts the invalidation notification, where the invalidation notification is used to instruct an interaction node on a source side to delete recorded information about a load balancing protocol of the invalid object; and the load balancer reassigns an interaction node to an application interaction request when the load balancer receives the application interaction request sent by the interaction node on the source side and destination data in the application interaction request is empty. In this way, reliability of message exchanging is ensured when an interaction node is abnormal.

A method and a system for exercising policy control, a policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) are provided, which can solve the problem that no policy control can be exercised over application service flows without an application function (AF). In the method, a PCRF receives information about an application event sent by a PCEF after subscribing the application event from the PCEF; and the PCRF generates a control policy for a service flow of the application according to the information about the application event. In the present invention, the PCEF sends the obtained information about the application event to the PCRF, so that even when no AF is involved, the PCRF can still generate a control policy according to policy contexts including the information about the application event and the like.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a packet processing method, a DPI network element and a DPI device. The method includes: determining, according to a packet feature of a first packet of a service flow, that a first deep packet inspection DPI device is used for performing DPI on the first packet, where DPI needs to be performed on the first packet; sending a first DPI request to the first DPI device, wherein the first DPI request includes all or part of contents of the first packet; and receiving a first DPI response that is sent by the first DPI device according to the first DPI request, wherein the first DPI response includes DPI result. The packet processing method, the DPI network element and the DPI device of the embodiments of the present disclosure can realize support for a network environment deployed with multiple DPI devices.

A communication method and an apparatus are provided, to effectively process a session of a terminal in a terminal handover scenario. The method may be applied to a scenario in which a terminal is handed over from a source access network element to a target access network element, and the method includes: obtaining session information of a first session of the terminal, where the session information includes first service type information; obtaining first information, where the first information is used to indicate service type information of local offloading supported by the target access network element; and if the target access network element supports local offloading of a service corresponding to the first service type information, determining that the target access network element processes the first session.

A control plane device includes: a determining unit, configured to determine a flow entry, where the flow entry includes QoS information, the QoS information is used to indicate a QoS processing rule, the QoS processing rule includes a QoS parameter, and the QoS processing rule is used to instruct to perform QoS control on a data packet according to the QoS parameter; and a sending unit, configured to send the flow entry to a forwarding plane device, so that the forwarding plane device obtains the QoS processing rule, and performs QoS control on a target packet according to the QoS parameter in the QoS processing rule, where the target packet is a data packet that matches the flow entry.

An embodiment of the present disclosure discloses a method and device for managing a forwarding plane tunnel resource. The method includes sending a forwarding plane tunnel resource request message to a forwarding plane device, for enabling the forwarding plane device to allocate a forwarding plane tunnel resource based on the forwarding plane tunnel resource request message; acquiring the allocated forwarding plane tunnel resource from the forwarding plane device; and sending the acquired forwarding plane tunnel resource to a target network element, to establish a packet data network connection with the target network element. By adopting the present disclosure, the load balancing of the forwarding plane device is achieved, the signaling interaction between the control plane device and the forwarding plane device is reduced.

The method includes: obtaining a path processing parameter from local configuration information or from a control layer device, obtaining path information and/or a restarting counter parameter from the control layer device; increasing a path with an opposite-end device when the path information is of increasing a path, identifying the state of the path and/or the state of the opposite-end device using the path processing parameter and/or the restarting counter parameter the opposite-end device; reporting the fault state of the path and/or the reset state of the opposite-end device to the control layer device when the path fails and/or the opposite-end device is reset, releasing sessions on the failed path and/or on a path connected with the reset opposite-end device.

A control method, system and function entity for reporting a bearer event of a signaling IP flow are provided. Flow identifier information may be generated for a signaling IP flow and a media IP flow, to unify a mechanism for reporting a signaling path status and a mechanism for reporting a bearer event of a media IP flow. In the method, the mechanism for reporting a signaling path status is not limited by the parameter of Flow Usage.

One example communication method includes obtaining information about a first application of at least one packet data unit (PDU) session, where the information about the first application is determined based on a first URSP, and then sending the information about the first application to a second network element, where the information about the first application is used to verify whether information about a second application of the at least one PDU session matches the information about the first application, and the information about the second application is information about an application to which a data packet in the at least one PDU session belongs.
