    Abstract: An OAM packet processing method includes generating, by a first network device, an OAM packet, where the OAM packet is an MPLS-TP packet that includes an identifier of the first network device and indication information indicating a type of the identifier of the first network device. The first network device sends the OAM packet to the second network device. After receiving the OAM packet, the second network device can determine, based on the indication information, the type of the identifier of the first network device that is carried in the OAM packet, and accurately read the identifier of the first network device from the OAM packet. Therefore, MPLS-TP OAM can be implemented in a plurality of scenarios such as an IPv4 network, an IPv6 network, and a network including IPv4 and IPv6, to expand an application scope of MPLS-TP OAM.

    Abstract: A tunnel management method includes sending, by a head node of an end-to-end segment routing traffic engineering (SR-TE) tunnel, an operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM) packet to an intermediate node of the SR-TE tunnel, setting an outer label stack of the OAM packet to enable a stack bottom label to point to the intermediate node, receiving an identifying the OAM packet by an intermediate node, obtaining, by the intermediate node, OAM information related to a tunnel between the head node and the intermediate node of the SR-TE tunnel, and sending, by one or more intermediate nodes of the SR-TE tunnel, OAM information obtained by the intermediate nodes to a control management device.

    Abstract: This application provides a method for transmitting data on a ring network. The ring network includes two adjacent FlexE cross-connection rings, each FlexE cross-connection ring includes at least three nodes, the two FlexE cross-connection rings have at least one common node, the common node carries a cross-ring end-to-end working path, and each of the two FlexE cross-connection rings includes one ring-shaped protection path. Because there is a protection path between any two adjacent nodes in the two FlexE cross-connection rings, if a link fault occurs in the common node, a node adjacent to the common node may transmit data from one FlexE cross-connection ring to another FlexE cross-connection ring by using the ring-shaped protection path. Therefore, reliability of the ring network including the at least two FlexE cross-connection rings is improved.
