    摘要: A framer circuit which may be implemented as a single chip is disclosed. The framer circuit performs a number of functions in a DTDM network including generating trains of empty DTDM frames, enabling the writing of data packets into specific DTDM frames and the examination of header data in specific DTDM frames to generate signals for the control of peripheral circuits. The framer circuit comprises an input serial/parallel converter, a frame detection circuit, an output parallel/serial converter and a control unit comprising one or more finite state machines for generating proper control signals such as read and write strobes for data insertion and extraction.

    摘要: An autostereoscopic apparatus for providing a 3D image to a viewer at a range of vertical eye locations. The apparatus includes a projection screen with a light receiving surface that is horizontally retroreflective and vertically diffusive. The apparatus includes a projector assembly including at least two projectors arranged side-by-side such that projection lenses of the projectors are horizontally aligned in a row. The apparatus includes a controller selectively operating the projectors to project at least two differing point-of-view images. The projection screen may take a number of useful embodiments to implement the autostereoscopic apparatus. For example, the projection screen may include a bottom layer including a retroreflective film that is retroreflective at least in the horizontal direction such as a brightness enhancement film and a top layer formed of a transparent sheet of lenticular material arranged for vertical diffusing.

    摘要: Realistic electronically controlled eyes for a figure such as a doll, toy, animatronic being, robot, etc., are provided by displaying a sequence of images simulating eye movement on an electronic display screen mounted to a portion of the figure. A convex lens, which serves to simulate the figure's eye, is mounted substantially in contact with a surface of the display screen system from which the light defining the sequence of images is emitted. To an observer looking at the convex surface of the lens, the lens appears as an eye characterized by realistic eye movement.

    摘要: A handheld device providing an internal view through an obscuring wall or other obscuring surfaces of hidden structural or facilities elements (such as wooden studs, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC), or the absence thereof. A continuous and homogeneous luminescent gas or other visual display material whose optical characteristics change as a result of the applied electric field is used both to simultaneously detect capacitance changes associated with hidden objects and to display those detected those objects. Different types of chambers are disclosed for the gas as well as means to prevent fringing effects. The gas is held just at its ionization level at which point it becomes optically visible. Circuitry is disclosed for controlling the energy source based on current draw or light output of the gas and feedback circuitry is disclosed to neutralize the effects of ambient light. Also disclosed is a device and method for the detection and mapping of electric fields.

    摘要: A device for affecting an individual bit rate limitation for each of a plurality of wavelength channels propagating in an optical fiber is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the device comprises a directional coupler which is inserted into the optical fiber link. A recirculation path for a fraction of the power propagating in the fiber link extends between an output of the coupler and an input of the coupler. Illustratively, the recirculation path includes a wavelength division demultiplexer and an individual delay element for each wavelength channel. Optical switches may be utilized to block or permit passage of individual wavelength channels in the recirculation path.
