Abstract: A wearable display apparatus for displaying an image has a source of modulated laser light and a scanning apparatus energizable to scan the modulated laser light from the source in a raster pattern and into the eye for forming an image. The scanning apparatus directs light into the eye of the viewer from a distance to the eye that is within the object focal length of the eye, positioned below the horizontal line of sight of the viewer, and disposed within a lower portion of the vertical peripheral field of view and substantially outside of the normal vertical field of view of the viewer. An optical fiber is disposed to direct the modulated laser light from the source to the scanning apparatus. A retaining band grips against the sides of the viewer's head and that seats the scanning apparatus against the viewer's face along or below the cheekbone.

Abstract: The present invention is an improvement in dynamic autostereoscopic visual displays emitting a field of light beams into an observer viewing space from a hogel array formed at a transparent projection screen surface having refractive beam expanding functions. The transparent screen is illuminated from the rear by an X-Y array of projectors focused on the screen, where each hogel location is illuminated by a local group of multiple projectors within the larger array. The brightness, color and direction of the light beams emitted by each hogel are controlled by one image point in each member of the local projector group that illuminates that hogel. The invention enables autostereoscopic display systems with compact dimensions and high overall resolution and brightness by combining the output of an array of small projectors with lower resolution and brightness on a single projection screen.

Abstract: A naked-eye stereoscopic display grating, manufacturing method and display device are disclosed. The method includes: preparing a transparent substrate; depositing a metal oxide layer on the transparent substrate; depositing a metal grating layer on the metal oxide layer, wherein, a reflectivity of the metal oxide layer is less than a reflectivity of the metal grating layer; and adopting a photolithography method to etch the metal oxide layer and the metal grating layer in order to expose a portion of the transparent substrate to form a transparent region and a reflective region arranged periodically. Accordingly, the present invention can increase the usage efficiency of the light, decrease a color crosstalk problem and low contrast ratio problem caused by an environment light reflected by the metal grating layer and the light in the panel.

Abstract: An electro-holographic light field generator device comprises surface acoustic wave (SAW) optical modulators arranged in different directions. Specifically, some embodiments have SAW modulators arranged in pairs, nose-to-nose with each other, and have output couplers that provide face-fire light emission. These SAW modulators also possibly include SAW sense transducers and/or viscoelastic surface material to reduce crosstalk.

Abstract: System and method for use of mixed and augmented reality Imaging surgical suite and an augmented reality device are provided. A 2D/3D virtual grid having a head-up display with augmented reality is provided. The head-up display can display a 2D radiographic image or 3D volumetric representation or shape model of image, and can further display an augmented reality grid/indicator which can be depicted as a grid, implant, instrument or bone avatar/figure representing shapes, orientations, and positions relative to an anatomical image or model. The augmented reality indicator can be displayed directly in a surgeon's field of view to provide a live, intra-operative situational environment and navigational guidance for the surgeon. The head-up display can show avatar grids/indicators that are outside of the surgeon's field of view within a patient's body.
