Abstract: A deadlock including a bolt housing and a cooperating strike element each having openings for reception of fastening means for anchoring the same one to a door and the other to a door frame. A bolt-operating knob on the housing conceals the fastening means when the bolt is in both its extended strike-engaging and retracted strike-releasing positions, the fastening means being exposed only when the bolt is moved to an intermediate position between its fully extended and retracted positions. A cover is press fitted on the strike to conceal the fastening means thereon.

Abstract: An emergency lock release for a door having a fixed outer handle and a latch releasing pushbutton mounted in the fixed handle on the outer side of a door, such as a bathroom door. The pushbutton is operatively coupled to a latch locking mechanism mounted on the inner side of a door and is provided with a recess for reception of a tool by means of which the pushbutton may be rotated to unlock the latch mechanism from the opposite or outer side of the door, when a person at the inner side becomes incapacitated or cannot otherwise unlock the door from the inner side thereof.

Abstract: A lock for sliding doors and including a strike adapted to be mounted on a door frame and having opposite sides for reception of a pair of latch hooks mounted for linear movements toward and away from each other in supporting means adapted for mounting in a sliding door. A motion transfer member imparts movement to one of the latch hooks in either direction of its movement responsive to movement of the other latch hook in the opposite direction. An actuator is mounted on a slide element associated with one of the latch hooks for imparting latching and unlatching movements to the hooks, and cooperates with a supporting member to releasably lock the latch hooks against unlatching movement, when it is desired to lock the door in a closed position. A key operated lock is provided for latching and unlatching the door from the side opposite the actuator.

Abstract: Piston means in a pneumatic door closer and including a body structure defining a radially outwardly opening annular channel having axially spaced sidewalls, a sealing ring movable axially toward and away from one of the sidewalls, and a porous lubricating ring disposed between the other of the sidewalls and the sealing ring. Both rings frictionally engage the cylindrical surface of an elongated casing in which the piston means is axially movable. The piston means includes a pair of cooperating elements welded together and to the inner end of a plunger rod which extends axially outwardly of one end of the casing.
