Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for forming materials into desired shapes by rolling or casting. The rolled shapes may be of constant or irregular cross section. The apparatus includes lateral restraint members that move with the workpiece to prevent edge cracking in rolling or provide a moving wall die in casting.
