Abstract: Method for testing the water absorption characteristics of building board materials, for example, Masonite, in which the rough side of the board is submerged in water and the smooth side subjected to a predetermined vacuum for a predetermined interval of time. The time and vacuum parameters of the method are calculated to achieve as closely as possible the same water absorption and thickness results as are obtained with the standard 24-hour test method.
