Abstract: The present disclosure relates to materials, devices, systems, and processes for magnetic identification of an object. Embodiments may include receiving from a plurality of sensors arranged within a layer of material an indication of a strength or signature of a magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor. The magnetic field may be created by the arrangement of one or more magnets proximate to a surface of the object where the surface is proximate to the plurality of sensors. Embodiments may include determining, based upon the indication of the strength or signature of the magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor, an arrangement of magnets proximate to the surface of the object. Based on the determined arrangement of the magnets on the surface of the object, the process may include identifying the object or the surface of the object. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating smart geo-fencing-based payment transactions according to one embodiment. A method, as described herein, includes detecting, by one or more capturing/sensing components of a data processing device, a first computing device within proximity of a geo-fenced location. The method further includes receiving detection information relating to the detection of the first computing device, authenticating at least one of the first computing device and the geo-fenced location, and interfacing the first computing device with a second computing device. The method may further include facilitating a payment transaction, where the payment transaction includes payment of a monetary amount from the second computing device to the first computing device, and executing the payment transaction.

Abstract: Embodiments related to a message processing system are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a computing system may include receiver logic to receive a message addressed to a user; analysis logic to determine whether a message collection, including the received message, has a common theme (e.g., a common sender or common content); modality logic to identify a messaging modality associated with each of the messages in the message collection; criteria logic to determine whether the message collection satisfies modality criteria (e.g., the messages represent at least two different messaging modalities); and notification logic to provide a notification of the message collection in response to determining that the message collection has a common theme and satisfies the modality criteria. Abstract: A gaming platform including a touch panel having a contact surface that a user may contact to operate the gaming platform to perform a gaming function. A plurality of touch regions divides the contact surface into a plurality of discrete regions. Each touch region may correspond to a different gaming function such that contacting the contact surface of the touch panel within a particular touch region causes the gaming platform to perform a corresponding gaming function. The gaming platform may include a plurality of touch regions each corresponding to the gaming platform playing a different musical note. In this configuration, each touch region may correspond to a key, string, striking surface, or other musical part for playing a particular musical note.
