Abstract:
System and methods are described to register FQDN-based IP service endpoints at network attachment points. One embodiment takes the form of a method comprising: receiving, at a server-side network access point (sNAP) in an information-centric network (ICN), a registration request including a first fully qualified domain name (FQDN), a port, a transport protocol, and a service name of an IP server; publishing, at the sNAP, the port, the transport protocol, and the service name to a first content identifier (CID); and subscribing, at the sNAP, to a second CID that is based on the FQDN.
Abstract:
A method and network access point (NAP) capable of serving content to a requesting wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The NAP receives a request for content from the WTRU via an air interface associated with the NAP. The requested content is associated with an allowable latency. The NAP determines whether the requested content is cached locally at the NAP. On a condition that the requested content is not cached locally at the NAP, the NAP determines delay metrics associated with obtaining the requested content from a centralized cache and at least one neighboring NAP. The NAP selects the centralized cache or the at least one neighboring NAP to retrieve the requested content from based on the delay metrics and the allowable latency associated with the requested content. The NAP then transmits the requested content to the WTRU over the air interface.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are provided to implement a method for radio environment, measurement (REM) scheduling, information extraction, storage and processing to generate terrain and object mapping/identification using higher frequency radio signals, directional transmission techniques and external database information. Described are wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) comprising a processor configured to, when the WTRU is in an idle state, receive a common control channel from a millimeter wave base station (mB), decode a measurement schedule included in the common control channel, wherein the measurement schedule includes one or more slots during which sounding signals will be sent, and, determine a slot during which the WTRU is available to measure a sounding signal, and, when the WTRU is in a connected state, receive a dedicated control channel from a millimeter wave base station (mB), decode a measurement schedule and a receiver configuration included in the dedicated control channel, wherein the measurement schedule and the receiver configuration are specific to the WTRU, and wherein the measurement schedule includes one or more slots during which sounding signals will be sent, and determine a slot during which the WTRU is available to measure a sounding signal.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for Layer-2 forwarding of multicast packets are disclosed. In an example, a method implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for wireless communications includes receiving a first packet comprising a request for content available at the WTRU, determining at least one outstanding request for the same content, and determining multicast path information of the at least one outstanding request. The method further includes generating a second packet and setting a destination Medium Access Control (MAC) address to a broadcast (BC) MAC address in the second packet, adding a proxy rule identifier (PRID) corresponding to the request into a payload of the second packet, and forwarding the second packet to another WTRU.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses and systems may be used to populate and utilize content in distributed network attachment point (NAP) caches with the help of a statistical cache report synchronization scheme that may be tuned in terms of bandwidth consumption for the synchronization and overall surety of the retrieval requests, and therefore, the incurred penalty in terms of latency. One example references a particular statistical synchronization scheme based on a Bloom filter reconciliation set technique. Each NAP of a plurality of NAPs may receive a list of unique NAP identifiers (NAPIds) of neighboring NAPs at regular intervals. A first NAP may receive a first content request for a requested content. On a condition that the requested content is not located in a caching database of the first NAP, the first NAP may determine the NAPId of a second NAP likely holding the requested content and issue a content request.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and systems are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method implemented by an end user device to decompose an application at runtime includes collecting profile information regarding local executions of the application on the end user device and determining, by the end user device using the collected profile information, one or more microservice patterns to decompose a whole or a part of the application into at runtime. The method further includes partitioning, by the end user device at runtime, the application into: (1) a locally executed portion of the application to be executed by the end user device and (2) the determined microservice patterns to be locally executed by the end user device or remotely executed by an external entity in communication with the end user device.
Abstract:
An edge termination point (ETP) transport protocol between two or more ETPs in a network, such as a Layer 2 transport network, may be provided. A device may receive an incoming internet protocol (IP) transaction at an edge termination point (ETP) in a network. The device may terminate the received incoming IP transaction at the ETP. The device may map the terminated incoming IP transaction onto an ETP-to-ETP communication. The device may control the ETP-to-ETP communication. For example, the device may control the ETP-to-ETP communication based on a resource management regime. The device may map the ETP-to-ETP communication onto one or more outgoing IP transactions at the ETP. The device may map the IP transaction onto an ETP-ETP communication. The ETP-ETP communication may include one or more ETP flows and one or more ETP transactions.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and systems for matching at least one publisher of content to a subscriber of the content are disclosed. A representative method may include obtaining, by a first entity from the subscriber, a content identifier associated with requested content, the content identifier being established in accordance with a first namespace; obtaining, by the first entity from a second entity, constraint information that is established in accordance with a second namespace and associated with the at least one publisher of the requested content and the subscriber of the requested content; and matching the at least one publisher of the content to the subscriber of the content based on the obtained content identifier and the obtained constraint information.
