摘要: A biopsy device having a cutting element is disclosed. The cutting element includes an inner cannula having a tissue receiving aperture disposed proximate a distal end thereof and an inner lumen. The inner cannula is slidably disposed within the inner lumen of an outer cannula. A vacuum chamber is disposed about at least a portion of the cutting element and is configured to create a vacuum in the cutting element during a biopsy procedure. The inner cannula is advanced distally outwardly and to cause the vacuum to be generated in the vacuum chamber. The vacuum is delivered to the cutting element whereby tissue is drawn into the tissue receiving aperture. The outer cannula is advanced distally outwardly after the inner cannula such that tissue drawn into the tissue cutting aperture is severed.

摘要: An introducer assembly is disclosed. The introducer assembly comprises an introducer cannula, an introducer hub and an introducer stylet body. The introducer cannula is defined by a distal end and a proximal end and has a lumen extending therebetween. The introducer hub is operatively connected to the introducer cannula, and wherein the introducer hub is configured for selective connection with multiple medical devices. The introducer stylet body is defined by a proximal end and a distal end and is removably disposed within the introducer cannula. The introducer stylet body may further comprise an imagable feature having a predetermined size disposed on a distal end thereof.

摘要: A needle set is disclosed for biopsy devices including spring-loaded core (SLC) and vacuum assisted spring-loaded core (VASLC) biopsy devices. The needle set comprises a stylet defining an open proximal end, at least two tissue receiving openings at a distal end thereof and a lumen extending from the open proximal end to the at least two tissue receiving openings, wherein the tissue receiving openings are in fluid communication with the lumen. The needle set further comprises a cannula defining an open distal end with a cutting edge formed thereon. The cannula is slidably mounted over the stylet such that the cannula and stylet are movable relative to one another between respective first and second positions. And the cannula is adapted to sever tissue residing in the tissue-receiving openings in a single cutting stroke to obtain at least two biopsy cores.
