    Abstract: An embodiment of a liquid-crystal display is provided which includes: a first substrate having a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, and a third pixel electrode; a second substrate having an opposite electrode, wherein the first pixel electrode, the second pixel electrode and the third pixel electrode, respectively, have a first overlapping area, a second overlapping area and a third overlapping area overlapped with the opposite electrode, and wherein the first overlapping area is smaller than the second overlapping area and the third overlapping area; and a liquid-crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
