Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an Evolved Node-B (eNB) operable to communicate with a User Equipment (UE) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process one or more configuration transmissions from the eNB carrying one or more parameters for Grantless Uplink (GUL) transmission. The second circuitry may be operable to determine one or more GUL subframes of an acquired Maximum Channel Occupancy Time (MCOT) on time-domain resources allocated for GUL transmission from the UE. The third circuitry may be operable to generate a GUL transmission during the one or more GUL subframes of the acquired MCOT in accordance with the one or more parameters for GUL transmission.

Abstract: A communication device including a first directional antenna and a second directional antenna which may each be set to any one of a plurality of main beam directions for radio communication, a transceiver configured to determine a reception quality for at least some of the plurality of main beam directions using the first directional antenna and for at least some of the plurality of main beam directions using the second directional antenna, select a main beam direction of the plurality of main beam directions based on the reception qualities determined by the first directional antenna and based on the reception qualities determined by the second directional antenna, and perform communication using the selected main beam direction.

Abstract: Machine-readable media, methods, apparatus and system for beam acquisition in a wireless system are disclosed. In some aspects, a base station may include a transceiver configured to map beam reference signals onto a plurality of transmission beams. The base station may further include a control module configured to divide the transmission beams into a plurality of groups, based at least in part on a plurality of logical indexes assigned to the transmission beams. The control module may be further be configured to divide the transmission beams of each of the groups into a plurality of sub-groups. The control module may be further configured to change a transmission beam order in at least one of the groups, in order to equalize and maximize logical index differences between transmission beams, which are adjacent to one another in a respective sub-group.
