Abstract:
A water vapor-permeable, waterproof linear polyurethane-urea polymer consisting of at least four soft segments: polytetramethylene oxide, polyethyleneoxide and polycaprolactone-polydimethylsiloxane-polycaprolactone. The soft segments are linked together with a diisocyanate and chain extended with a diamine. The polymer is utilized to coat various textile materials. The compositions of the polymer as well as various methods of coating the textile materials are described.
Abstract:
A water vapor-permeable, waterproof adhesive polymer and a linear polyurethane-urea polymer, either alone or in combination with one another, are utilized to coat various textile materials. The compositions of these polymers as well as various methods of coating the textile materials are described.
Abstract:
The present composition relates to fabric care compositions comprising an organosiloxane polymer. Methods of using such compositions including contacting a fabric with the composition and rinsing the fabric are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides thermal insulator composites based upon nanostructured L3-silica microparticles and polyurethane foam chemistry that are both easy to process and have superior insulating properties for use in household and commercial refrigeration, construction, and shipping applications. The composite material retains many of the attractive processing characteristics of polyurethane foams such as volume expansion and shape-filling during polymerization and demonstrates a total thermal conductivity between 32 and 44% that of commercially available polyurethane foams.

Abstract:
Using novel synthetic techniques, siloxane-urea segmented copolymers are made. The copolymers advantageously contain a polyether interface, with controlled morphologies and properties. High molecular weight, high strength siloxane-urea copolymers with a high content of urea hard segment may be prepared. Polymer properties that can independently be controlled include modulus, ultimate tensile strength, level of equilibrium water absorption and refractive index.

Using novel synthetic techniques, siloxane-urea segmented copolymers are made. The copolymers advantageously contain a polyether interface, with controlled morphologies and properties. High molecular weight, high strength siloxane-urea copolymers with urea hard segment contents ranging from 5 to over 60% by weight may be prepared. Polymer properties that can independently be controlled include modulus (1.0 to 120 MPa), ultimate tensile strength (1.5 to 25 MPa), level of equilibrium water absorption (˜0 to 100% by weight) and refractive index (1.43 to 1.46).
