摘要: An apparatus includes a build plate, a powder application apparatus that applies metal powder onto the build plate to form a powder layer, a beam irradiation apparatus that irradiates the powder layer with an electron beam, and a control unit that controls the powder application apparatus and the beam irradiation apparatus. When the powder layer is preheated by irradiation with the electron beam, the control unit sets a beam size and an irradiation position of the electron beam such that lines of the electron beam do not overlap each other at least at a start of preheating, and controls the beam irradiation apparatus to gradually increase at least one of a beam current and the beam size of the electron beam from the start of preheating to an end of preheating.

摘要: In a squeegeeing step of the three-dimensional powder bed fusion additive manufacturing (PBF-AM) method, a powder sample is supplied onto a base plate to stack powder layers. In a main melting step, a powder bed which is a top layer of the powder layers is irradiated with an electron beam to melt a two-dimensional shape area, which is a single layer obtained by slicing a shaping model. In a shaping surface checking step, a backscattered electron that is generated when the melted area is irradiated with the electron beam is detected and, based on the backscattered electron, it is determined whether the melting state is normal or not. When it is determined in the shaping surface checking step that the melting state is not normal, a re-melting step is performed to re-irradiate the area melted in the main melting step with an electron beam generated by the beam generation unit.

摘要: An additive manufacturing machine is provided which can smooth out powdered material while preventing mechanical interference between a smoothing plate and a manufacturing box. The additive manufacturing machine has a support stage, a manufacturing box, and a powder feeder mechanism. The powder feeder mechanism feeds powdered material onto the support stage and smooths out the powdered material. The powder feeder mechanism has an arm portion, a guide mechanism, a connective portion, and a drive mechanism. The guide mechanism is secured to the manufacturing box and supports the arm portion such that it can move in a first direction. The connective portion is connected to the arm portion and transmits force to the arm portion only in the first direction. The drive mechanism is secured to a support member different from the manufacturing box and has a drive portion for moving the connective portion in the first direction.
