The method includes outputting a thermoset resin from an outlet of a feeder and directing a stimulus from a stimulation source toward a portion of the output thermoset resin that is downstream from the outlet of the feeder. The stimulus is configured to heat the portion of the output thermoset resin to fully cure the portion of the output thermoset resin.

摘要: An apparatus for producing a three-dimensional object includes a support assembly having a build platform, a track extending through a build area, and a deposition mechanism mounted on the track and configured for producing the three-dimensional object in a layer-by-layer technique. The deposition mechanism includes a carriage movable along the track, a supply of a flowable material mounted on the carriage, a roller in communication with the flowable material, where the roller is rotatably mounted on the carriage and configured for rotating to carry the flowable resin to an application for application to produce the object, and an exposure device mounted on the carriage. The exposure device emits electromagnetic waves to an exposure site to solidify the applied flowable material to produce the object. The roller is permeable to the electromagnetic waves, such that the waves pass through the roller in traveling from the exposure device to the exposure site.

摘要: A continuous filament additive manufacturing machine for building a part by laying down a continuous mono-filament or composite filament material layer by layer on a tool or substrate. The machine includes a system, such as a robot, operable to move in at least three degrees of freedom, and a placement module coupled to the system and being configured to deposit the continuous filament material. The placement module includes a guide for guiding the material to the part, an ultrasonic compaction device including an ultrasonic driver, an attachment frame and an ultrasonic disk horn coupled to the attachment frame. The ultrasonic driver is coupled to the disk horn and ultrasonically vibrates the horn in a reciprocating manner to melt or flow the material and cause the material to fuse and be compacted to the tool or substrate.

摘要: An apparatus for three-dimensional (3D) printing of an object comprises a print head having at least one inlet for receiving material to be extruded and an outlet. The print head is configured, when the outlet is completely unblocked, to extrude a sheet of material of the width and height of the outlet. One or more actuators are positioned along the width of the print head and arranged to controllably block one or more sections along the width to prevent material from being extruded through the blocked sections, enabling selective extrusion of material through sections that are not blocked in order to selectively print a width of an entire layer of the object in a single pass. The print head and the object move relative to one another via one motion of the print head or of the object.

摘要: A three-dimensional, additive manufacturing system is disclosed. The first and second printer modules form sequences of first patterned single-layer objects and second patterned single-layer objects on the first and second carrier substrates, respectively. The patterned single-layer objects are assembled into a three-dimensional object on the assembly plate of the assembly station. A controller controls the sequences and patterns of the patterned single-layer objects formed at the printer modules, and a sequence of assembly of the first patterned single-layer objects and the second patterned single-layer objects into the three-dimensional object on the assembly plate. The first transfer module transfers the first patterned single-layer objects from the first carrier substrate to the assembly apparatus in a first transfer zone and the second transfer module transfers the second patterned single-layer objects from the second carrier substrate to the assembly apparatus in a second transfer zone. The first and second printer modules are configured to deposit first and second materials under first and second deposition conditions, respectively. The first and second materials are different and/or the first and second deposition conditions are different.
