Abstract: An organic electroluminescent element includes, in order, an anode, an organic layer including a light-emitting layer, and a cathode. The organic layer further includes a first organic layer that is provided between the light-emitting layer and the anode, and includes a hole transport layer. The hole transport layer includes a material having an absorption coefficient of 0.01 or greater and 0.06 or less. The light-emitting layer has a light-emitting center receding from a first interface of the light-emitting layer by a thickness greater than 0 and equal to or less than 0.4, where the light-emitting layer has a thickness of 1. The first interface is adjacent to the anode. The organic electroluminescent element further includes a microcavity structure in which the position of the interface is a resonance point.

Abstract: An organic EL element including: a TFT substrate having a TAOS-TFT; and an organic EL unit having a lower electrode. The lower electrode includes an aluminum containing metal layer, a transition metal containing oxide layer disposed between the aluminum containing metal layer and the TFT substrate, and an aluminum containing oxide layer disposed between the aluminum containing metal layer and the transition metal containing oxide layer and in contact with both the aluminum containing metal layer and the transition metal containing oxide layer. The aluminum containing oxide layer contains aluminum oxide. The transition metal containing oxide layer contains tungsten oxide and has a density of 6.5 g/cm3 or more.

In the organic EL element emitting blue light, the organic light-emitting layer contains an organic light-emitting material emitting, through photoluminescence, blue light that has a CIE y coordinate no greater than 0.13 such that a luminance drop due to film shape is suppressed to 10% or smaller.

Abstract: Disclosed is a self light-emitting element including a first electrode, a light-emitting layer disposed above the first electrode, a function layer disposed above the light-emitting layer, and doped with a metal, and a second electrode disposed above the function layer, in which the function layer has a multilayer structure of at least three layers including an uppermost layer, a lowermost layer, and an intermediate layer between the uppermost layer and the lowermost layer, and the intermediate layer is doped with the metal at a lower concentration than the uppermost layer and the lowermost layer.
