Abstract: This holder and transporter is for one or more tanks of the type containing oxygen and acetylene gases. Basically, it comprises a base, a handle and means connecting them, the latter serving to receive and secure at least one tank to the assembly. More specifically, the base is of channel shape to provide rigidity, the tank receiving means being a split band to encircle the tank and provide separated ends which are perforated to receive a fastener used in clamping the band to the tank, one of the ends having a handle formed thereon. The handle is offset relative to the band to provide a selected balance between the handle and the tank. If desired, the base may be shaped to give increased strength to light-weight material and provide spaced supporting surface engaging portions which make the holder stable on uneven surfaces. The holder may be adapted for use on a plurality of tanks.

Abstract: The invention relates to heater apparatus for controlling the temperature of the melt within the nozzle or transfer tube of a die casting machine. The apparatus employs thermostaticallycontrolled heated gases which flow into an enclosure surrounding the nozzle, maintain the nozzle within a predetermined temperature range, and are either exhausted from the enclosure or are recycled back to the heater. The enclosure includes a damper deflector and walls which are readily retractable for access to the nozzle.

Abstract: An improved pencil sharpener is provided which includes a container having a pencil-receiving channel extending from the exterior surface of the container into the interior thereof. A plurality of opposed spaced cutting blades are pivotally secured in the container with the pivot point adjacent the outer end of the channel and also of the blade. The blades are secured against rotation around their longitudinal axes. Preferably, the blades are generally wedge-shaped in side configuration, each being wider at its inner end and each with a cutting surface urged toward the cutting surface of the other blades by a resilient biasing means, such as a spring. Each blade has a sharp point along its cutting surface adjacent its inner end, which point is adapted to non-releasably engage a pencil when the latter is retracted or withdrawn along the channel from an interior location beyond said point. The sharpener is particularly adapted for use with carpenters'' pencils and the like.

Abstract: Stilts for walking at a raised elevation. The stilts include an elongate generally rectangular upright support board having a generally rectangular foot support block vertically adjustably secured thereto by an encompassing U-bolt including a strap connecting the threaded ends of the U-bolts. Wing nuts tighten on the strap to clamp the block to the upright in its vertically adjusted position. A flexible loop is secured to the block by the U-bolt in one form of the invention. In a second form of the invention one end of the flexible strap is secured to the block by the U-bolt and the opposite end of the strap is adjustably connected to the upright by a second generally rectangular Ubolt.
