Abstract: The invention relates to a discharge system (41) for at least one pressure vessel (19) which is filled with a combustible fluid, said system being intended for releasing the combustible fluid from the at least one pressure vessel (19) into the surroundings once a predefined limit value of a release parameter has been exceeded, said system comprising: at least one drain valve (28) for releasing the fluid from the at least one pressure vessel (19) once the predefined limit value of the release parameter has been exceeded; at least one admission opening (30) for admitting the fluid from the at least one pressure vessel (19) into the at least one drain valve (28); and at least one drain opening (33) for releasing the fluid into the surroundings, wherein the discharge system (41) comprises at least one sensor (35) for detecting the ambient temperature and/or ambient radiation in the surroundings of the at least one drain opening (33), and the release of the fluid from the at least one drain opening (33) is controllable in an open loop and/or a closed loop on the basis of the ambient temperature and/or ambient radiation detected by the at least one sensor (35), also once the predefined limit value of the release parameter has been exceeded.

The cylinder and the endcaps form an enclosure. Each endcap includes a connector. A diaphragm is located in the enclosure. The diaphragm includes an annular sidewall. The device includes an inner chamber defined by an inner surface of the sidewall, and a storage space between an interior surface of the cylinder and an outer surface of the sidewall. A metal hydride composition is located in the storage space.

Abstract: A hydrogen storage system includes a hydrogen storage alloy containment vessel comprising an external pressure containment vessel and a thermally conductive compartmentalization network disposed within the pressure containment vessel. The compartmentalization network creates compartments within the pressure vessel within which a hydrogen storage alloy is disposed. One or both of the compartmentalization network and the pressure vessel may be formed by a 3D printing process, such as by Selective Laser Melting (SLM) and/or Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). The hydrogen storage alloy is a non-pyrophoric AB2 Laves phase hydrogen storage alloy having: an A-site to B-site elemental ratio of not more than 0.5; and an alloy composition including (in at %): Zr: 2.0-5.5, Ti: 27-31.3, V: 8.3-9.9, Cr: 20.6-30.5, Mn: 25.4-33.0, Fe: 1.0-5.9, Al: 0.1-0.4, and/or Ni: 0.0-4.0.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus, and/or device is provided for a vapor shield. The vapor shield may attach to a cryogenic storage vessel having an opening and a pump out port. The vapor shield may include a collar, and a pump out port protector. The collar of the vapor shield may be attached to the opening of the cryogenic storage vessel and may support the pump out port protector. The pump out port protector may direct overflowing fluid, such as liquid cryogen, away from the pump out port. In this manner, the pump out port may be protected during filling and emptying of the cryogenic storage vessel with cooling fluid.

Abstract: A feedthrough for use with a pressure vessel is presented. In some embodiments, the feedthrough is formed with an insulator portion with insulator threads that mate with threads of a body portion. In some embodiments, the threads can be rounded or square threads. In some embodiments, the insulator portion includes a through hole and a fill structure. The fill structure can include a fill-tube that can be used to communicate with the pressure vessel where the body portion is attached. In some embodiments, the insulator portion can include additional through-holes to receive one or more conductors.
