摘要: A remotely located, uniquely identified resource can serve an application utilized by the Web browser. Access to the application can require authentication including a userid and password. A memory for a record associated with the application can be queried. The memory can include a set of userids and passwords indexed against unique application identifiers that are independent upon server identifiers or URLs. Responsive to querying the memory, a match between the application requiring authentication and a unique application identifier in the memory can be determined. A userid and password can be provided without manual input from a user from memory that is associated with the unique application identifier to the remotely located. The uniquely identified resource can use the userid/password as authentication to access the served application.

摘要: A stored document of a persistent data store can include digitally encoded content. A version of the stored document can be created that is placed in a non-persistent memory. This version can be referred to as a rendered document. Content from the rendered document can be presented in a user interface. A user selection of a user defined portion of the presented content can be received. Additionally, a user issued command to hide the selected portion of the presented content can be received. The rendered document can be responsively changed to omit the user defined portion of the presented content when outputting the presented content to at least one output device. The changing of the rendered document to omit the user defined portion is unable to affect the stored document in any fashion.

摘要: A method for providing a customized review may include receiving, by a processing device, a request for a customized review for a product or service from a requester. The method may also include receiving, by the processing device, a consumer profile associated with the request from the requester. The method may additionally include receiving, by the processing device, at least one review for the product or service and an associated profile for a provider of each review. The consumer profile associated with the request may be compared by the processing device to the profile associated with each review for the product or service. The method may further include providing, by the processing device, the customized review to the requester. The customized review may include any reviews by review providers with profiles that substantially match the consumer profile associated with the request.

摘要: Application launching icons are prioritized and displayed on a mobile electronic device having a limited display area. How much time is available to a user for use of the device is determined, and any tasks that correspond to defined priorities are identified. The application launching icons are prioritized for display order in accordance with time and priorities to provide the user with a prioritized arrangement of the applications as represented by the icons in order to accomplish priority tasks.

摘要: A method for intelligently handling abbreviations in text-based electronic communications can begin with the compilation of abbreviation usage history data by an intelligent abbreviation handler component of a text-based electronic communications system. The abbreviation usage history data can indicate a presentation preference for abbreviation elements based upon past usage by the user. An abbreviation element can be an abbreviation, an acronym, or an initialism. The abbreviation element can be presented in a condensed format or an expanded format. Abbreviation elements can be identified in a received text-based electronic communication. The presentation preference of each identified abbreviation element can be intelligently determined for each recipient from the abbreviation usage history data. An abbreviation-adjusted text-based electronic communication can be created for each recipient using the received text-based electronic communication and the determined presentation preference. The abbreviation-adjusted text-based electronic communication can be conveyed to the recipient.

摘要: In one embodiment, common functions of hyperlinks are listed and associated with alternative terms, which may be words and phrases that are commonly used to identify hyperlinks in web pages and other documents. A common icon is associated with each common function, and a predetermined position on a display screen is assigned to each common icon. The alternative terms for each common function are compared to each of the hyperlinks in a source document. If a hyperlink matches an alternative term of a common function, the target resource locator from that hyperlink, which points to a target document, is associated with that common function. The corresponding common icon is displayed at its predetermined position on a display screen in the form of a common function hyperlink, which includes the target resource locator. Activating the common function hyperlink redirects the application to the target document.

摘要: Conducting a financial transaction using near field communication. An amount of money owed for a first commercial transaction can be determined. Respective financial account information can be received from each of a plurality of mobile devices via near field communication. A respective portion of the money owed for the first commercial transaction can be allocated to each respective financial account, wherein each respective financial account is identified by the financial account information provided by a respective one of the plurality of mobile devices. Allocated portions of the money owed can be charged, respectively, to the financial accounts.

摘要: Providing a requisite level of service for an electronic meeting. An embodiment can include receiving a request to schedule a first electronic meeting in a time slot, identifying an electronic meeting system to host the first electronic meeting, identifying a second electronic meeting scheduled to be hosted by the electronic meeting system in the time slot, determining an estimate of resource usage within the electronic meeting system during the time slot at least based on the second electronic meeting being scheduled to be hosted by the electronic meeting system in the time slot, comparing the estimate of resource usage with a threshold value, responsive to determining that the estimate of resource usage exceeds the threshold value, providing the requisite level of service to the first electronic meeting in the time slot by reducing anticipated resource usage of the electronic meeting system by the second electronic meeting.
