    摘要： Various ocular fixation devices are disclosed. One ocular fixation device includes first and second rings, where at least one of the rings includes means for fixating ocular tissue of an eye. The means for fixating are arranged to grasp the ocular tissue of the eye and to release the ocular tissue of the eye based on rotation of at least one of the first and second rings. The ocular fixation device may also include one or more structures on which a surgical tool can be mounted on the ocular fixation device at one or more locations. For instance, a dome of the ocular fixation device could include one or more holes that are configured to receive one or more projections from the surgical tool. As another example, a base of the ocular fixation device could include one or more notches configured to receive a projection from the surgical tool.

    摘要： One example scleral prosthesis includes a first free end and a second free end, each wider than a middle portion of the scleral prosthesis. Multiple first portions form the first end of the scleral prosthesis. The first portions are separated along at least half of a length of the scleral prosthesis. Multiple second portions may form the second end of the scleral prosthesis, and the second portions may be separated along less than a quarter of the length of the scleral prosthesis. An implantation device can be used to facilitate implantation of a scleral prosthesis. The implantation device includes a first end portion configured to be inserted into a scleral tunnel of an eye. The implantation device also includes a second end portion configured to receive the scleral prosthesis. A rod with a tapered and rounded end can be partially inserted into the first end portion of the implantation device.

    摘要： Disclosed is a method and apparatus for accomplishing a noninvasive screen for breast disease markers, including breast cancer markers and cytologically abnormal cells. Intraductal fluid is noninvasively aspirated using compression, heating and suction cycles. The removed sample is thereafter assayed for the presence of cytologically abnormal cells and/or one or more breast disease markers. In addition to the diagnostic applications of the disclosed method and apparatus, a therapeutic application is also contemplated wherein intraductal fluids are noninvasively aspirated using compression, heating and suction cycles to remove toxic buildups within the fluid.

    摘要： Provided is a hygienic wipes steamer having a housing assembly with a liquid container and a generally planar heater assembly being supported thereby. The housing assembly may be configured for supporting either a stack of individual sheets of hygienic wipes material or a roll of hygienic wipes material. The individual sheets of both the roll and the stack are preferably arranged in detached relationship to one another and are successively delivered to the heater assembly. A wipes transporter may be further included within the housing assembly and is operative to successively engage the uppermost one of the individual sheets of the stack for transportation to the heater assembly. Alternatively, a roller assembly may be included with the housing assembly and is preferably operative to deliver individual sheets to the heater assembly prior to warming and moisturizing thereof.

    摘要： Provided is a hygienic wipes steamer for warming hygienic wipes. The hygienic wipes steamer comprises a housing assembly contains a liquid container, a roller assembly, a heater assembly and an ejector assembly. The liquid container stores a quantity of liquid. The roller assembly rotatably supports a roll of material and cuts the material into individual hygienic wipes during unwinding of the material. The heater assembly has a beating element and has steam holes formed therealong. The heater assembly is in fluid communication with the liquid container and receives hygienic wipes from the roller assembly. Upon activation of the hygienic wipes steamer, liquid flows into the heater assembly from the liquid container and is transformed into steam when heated by the heating element such that the steam passes through the steam holes and warms the hygienic wipe that is supported by the heater assembly. The ejector assembly ejects the warmed hygienic wipes from the hygienic wipes steamer.
