The HO-CMD message includes a Ranging CHannel (RCH) index of an RCH allocated to the MS by a target BS and a subframe index of the allocated RCH, and the RCH index of the allocated RCH does not overlap with indexes of other RCHs of the target BS.

摘要： A method for managing flow information of a mobile station by a target base station in a communication system is provided. The method includes receiving a ranging request message, which includes a flow identifier for each of flows between a serving base station and the mobile station and a change count indicating the number of times of an addition/change/deletion operation of a corresponding flow for each of flow identifiers, from the mobile station; and transmitting a ranging response message, which includes a validity indicator indicating whether the change count of each of the flow identifiers is valid or not, to the mobile station, wherein, when the validity indicator indicates that at least one change count among change counts for each of the flow identifiers is not valid, the ranging response message includes a list including the at least one change count that is not valid.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for reducing a handover delay in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In a method for operating a terminal to reduce a handover delay in a broadband wireless communication system, a handover procedure is performed with a serving Base Station (BS) to obtain a dedicated ranging code and a Connection ID (CID). The dedicated ranging code is transmitted to one or more target BSs using the CID. Whether the dedicated ranging code is received is determined. Therefore, a handover delay and a chance of malfunction can be reduced.

The method includes, when a Floor Grant message is received from a PTT server, allocating an uplink resource to a corresponding terminal and when a Floor Release message is received from the terminal, aborting the uplink resource allocation. The uplink resource is allocated only to the terminal having the data to be transmitted, and the resources are not allotted to terminals having no data to send.

摘要： Radio resource allocation apparatus and method in a multi-channel system are provided. The method includes determining a type of a channel to be allocated to terminals, which request a resource allocation. When there is a terminal to be assigned the band AMC channel, necessary resources are allocated to the terminal as resources of the band AMC channel within a frequency band preferred by the terminal. A virtual resource space is generated which collects resources not allocated as the resources of the band AMC channel. Resources are allocated to terminals to be assigned the diversity channel from within the virtual resource space. Accordingly, the radio resources can be efficiently allocated in the multi-channel system where the diversity channel and the band AMC channel coexist.

摘要： A base station includes an apparatus for protecting information of a mobile station during a process of authenticating a ranging message of the mobile station that performs a handover in a wireless communication, system. In a method for encrypting a ranging response message in a base station, when a ranging request message is received from a mobile station that performs a handover, an authentication station is requested to transmit Authorization Key (AK) context of the mobile station. Validity of the ranging request message is determined using CMAC based on the AK context of the mobile station provided by the authentication station. When the ranging request message is valid, a response message to the ranging request message is encrypted. The encrypted response message is transmitted to the mobile station.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for providing a handover using an Mobile Station IDentifier (MS ID) in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, at least one Base Station (BS) ID index assigned to a serving base station by at least one neighbor base station is confirmed. A target base station for a handover is confirmed. A temporary MS ID is formed using a BS ID index assigned to the serving base station by the target base station, and an MS ID index assigned to the mobile station by the serving base station. A network re-entry procedure with the target base station is performed using the temporary MS ID. Communication with the serving base station is performed until the network re-entry procedure with the target base station is completed.
