摘要: A single rope tie down device has a single rope with an internal passageway and two S-hooks. The single rope has a first end and a second end. The internal passageway is proximate to the first end of the rope. The first S-hook is attached to the first end of the single rope. The second S-hook is freely moveable along the single rope between the internal passageway and the second end of the rope. The second end of the rope passes through the eyelet of the first S-hook and then passes through the internal passageway of the single rope forming a closed, adjustable length loop in the single rope. The second S-hook is moveable along the single rope within the loop. The loop can be tightened or loosened to secure the S-hooks to an item below the single rope tie down device to a carrier.

摘要: A fluidic support device is described that counteracts the gravitational bending moment present in a substrate tube during a modified chemical vapor deposition preform fabrication process. Hence, use of this device results in the production of a straight optical fiber preform. The device includes a hemicylindrical annulus section in close proximity to the portion of the substrate tube to be supported, and uses flowing fluid to offset gravity and to center the substrate tube. Gaseous use of the device increases and stabilizes the thermophoretic force without contact by either solid or liquid materials, avoiding any reduction in strength of the finished fiber.

摘要: A data receiver is described that includes a microcomputer that is coupled to a self-clocking asynchronous data bus. The data bus includes three signal lines TDATA, CDATA and RDATA. Bits of a data block are detected by a first exclusive-OR gate that is coupled to the TDATA and CDATA lines. An interrupt control signal and the output of the first exclusive-OR gate are coupled to a second exclusive-OR gate that generates an interrupt signal. The interrupt signal is coupled to the interrupt input of the receiving microcomputer. The receiving microcomputer is interrupted in response to a data bit and then changes the binary state of the interrupt control signal for producing an interrupt for the idle state between data bits. Upon being interrupted by the idle state between data bits, the receiving microcomputer changes the binary state of the interrupt control signal for producing an interrupt for the next data bit and also applies a bit of return data to the RDATA line. The received data block may include an address and a data portion.

摘要: A forced air furnace air freshener attached to a cold air return duct thereof. A pair of vertically spaced openings are provided in a wall of the duct. A basket has its lid mounted on the outside of such wall, which lid carries a scent block. The hinged main portion of the gasket is normally closed so that air flowing through the cold air duct is by-passed through said openings and is scented by said scent block.

摘要: A method for recovering connate fluids (e.g. oil) from a low permeability subterranean reservoir (e.g. diatomite) through a single wellbore. Upper and lower intervals are fractured from the wellbore that the fractured intervals only partially overlap, thereby leaving a partial, natural barrier formed of random-spaced, low permeable areas along the interface between the fractured intervals. This partial barrier improves the sweep efficiency of a drive fluid (e.g. water) which is injected into the lower fractured interval by forcing it to spread outward into the reservoir before it is flows through the upper fractured interval. The drive fluid is injected at approximately the same rate as that at which the fluids are produced so that displacement of oil occurs primarily due to imbibition.
