Abstract:
A compact lightweight piston/cylinder assembly having a body provided with a plurality of adjacent chambers, each chamber having a piston reciprocally mounted therein. Each piston is secured to a piston guide member which reciprocally moves in the body with each of the pistons. One of the pistons serves as an output piston and is provided with a piston rod extending therefrom.
Abstract:
The method of manufacture of a hydraulic cylinder in which a piston for the cylinder is formed from a steel workpiece which is rotated and a bronze overlay fused into its surface while it is rotating, the overlay being continuously monitored and machined to a precise diameter. Thereafter, spaced ring grooves are cut into the piston.
Abstract:
A fluid actuator assembly comprising a plurality of modules which are secured in serial relation to form the body of the fluid actuator. A replaceable liner, common to each of the modules, extends through the bores of the modules which make up the body. Means are provided to secure the modules in serial relation.
Abstract:
A hydraulically operated valve which is operated open and closed by applying differential pressure to opposite end surfaces of an annular piston which moves a concentrically positioned valve operating plunger.
Abstract:
A pump assembly wherein fluid under pressure in a pump housing is prevented from escaping around the drive shaft of the pump by a seal which is held in place by the combination of a spring and fluid pressure applied through a diaphragm from the interior of the pump housing.
Abstract:
A telescoping fluid actuator assembly including a housing having a plurality of concentrically disposed fluid actuators disposed therein. Each fluid actuator includes a cylindrical housing enclosing a piston and piston rod. Fluid passage means is provided for alternately directing fluid pressure to the front and back piston faces of each piston to effect forward and rearward movement of the pistons and the associated piston rod. The innermost concentric fluid actuator has a piston rod extending from the housing for engaging a workpiece for movement thereof. All of the concentrically mounted fluid actuators, except the innermost fluid actuator, is provided with a hollow piston rod which forms the cylinder housing for adjacent concentric fluid actuators.

Abstract:
A valve in which a blade having an opening is moved between two oval-shaped seals, each having a pair of spaced circular inner seals, all housed in a valve body. One set of aligned circular seals has a central opening flanked by two opposing and aligned openings through the valve body. When the opening of the blade is positioned in alignment with the opening through the seals and the body, the valve is, of course, opened. When the opening of the blade is repositioned opposite the other set of o-shaped seals, the valve is very tightly closed.
