    摘要: A receiver for sensing track currents includes a toroid coupled to the track rails via a single conductor. The toroid has an air gap in which a linear Hall sensor is inserted. The voltage of the Hall sensor is applied to signal processing circuitry including a low pass filter, amplifier and level detectors. In one embodiment of the invention comprising a track occupancy detector, second and third windings coupled to the toroid are selectively energized from a potential source to provide MMF's in the toroid of one and another polarity, and of a level less than the MMF provided by an occupied track section. The amplifier includes first and second channels for amplifying signals of opposite polarities. Each channel of the amplifier is coupled to a pair of level detectors, one of the level detectors in each pair is a vital level detector with the threshold set at about 50% of the threshold of the other level detector in the pair. A lack of occupancy is indicated when, during normal operation, level detectors trip in pairs. Lack of failures is checked by opening the conductor to the track rails and sequentially energizing the second and third conductors, and noting that one level detector in each pair trips in response to energization of the second or third conductors, respectively. Another embodiment of the invention is used as an approach detector by comparing current level in the rails with a fixed threshold, as current increases above the threshold an approach indication is given.

    摘要: An audio frequency track circuit with improved security in the train detection function for rapid transit applications for use with uninsulated rails includes an improved transmitter and receiver. The transmitter modulates a track frequency carrier with a fixed code rate, regardless of the code rate employed to modulate the train information frequency. The receiver includes a decoder tuned to the track frequency modulation rate. By using such a sharply tuned decoder, the noise protection threshold is increased. Because of its application to uninsulated rails, with the associated lack of hard track circuit boundaries, adjacent track circuits have different track frequency modulation rates to insure that the modulated track frequency signal, from one track circuit, is not effective to operate a track relay in another circuit even under failure conditions.

    摘要: Coin apparatus for use in a manually operable vending machine which has latches for locking it against operation unless coin sufficient for purchase of an item is deposited, the apparatus having electronically controlled latch release members operable on manual operation of the vending machine, following deposit of a sufficient amount in nickels, dimes and quarters for a vend, to release the latches. The nickels, dimes and quarters drop through nickel, dime and quarter chutes, quarters being sensed by interception of a first beam of light, dimes by interception of a second beam of light, and nickels by interception of both beams. An escrow system includes a gate which opens on a vend to allow escrowed coins to drop out for delivery to a money box, provision being made for holding this gate open for a time sufficient for dropout of all escrowed coins.

    摘要: Molded body armor panels conformed to fit individual torsos based upon gender or, in custom applications, individual features of a particular male or female torso. The individual body panels are constructed of multiple layers of twill or other unconventional long float woven ballistic fibers with each layer impregnated with a curable adhesive. Additional reinforcement may be supplied in appropriate areas, such as breasts, spine, sternum and edges. The multiple impregnated layers of fabric are placed within a mold conforming to the particular torso contour desired. The long floats of the fabric allows the layers to stretch or compress as required to the particular shape desired. The adhesive is cured in the mold under low heat and low pressure, binding the layers of fabric together, as well as binding the conformed yarns of each individual layer in permanent contour. Interior and exterior coverings for comfort and appearance may be supplied.

    摘要: Coin dispensing apparatus comprising a base having a socket therein adjacent one end of the base constituting its rearward end, a coin ejector at the bottom of the socket movable forward away from a retracted position for ejecting a coin in the socket, the ejector being movable forward to eject the coin and rearward back to a retracted position. The socket is adapted to receive a coin tube for holding a stack of coins, the bottom coin bearing on the bottom of the socket. The socket has an exit passage at the forward end for ejection of the coin by sliding it forward off the bottom of the socket. The bottom of the socket has a forward edge and an opening adjacent the rearward side of the socket. A central slot extends in the bottom of the socket between its opening and the forward edge. The ejector comprises a U-shaped member opening toward the forward end of the base and has an upstanding T-shaped projection at a central portion of its closed end. The projection is engageable with the rearward edge of the bottom coin and comprises a head at the upper end of a stem which head is above the bottom of the socket, when the ejector moves forward, and below the bottom of the socket, when the ejector moves rearward. The U-shaped member at its open end is wider than the coin to be ejected.

    摘要: A track circuit signalling system for an electrified rapid transit system using significantly fewer components is provided. Instead of a transmitter and receiver at each track circuit boundary, alternate boundaries have transmitters only; and the intermediate boundaries have two receivers. The coupling units for the two receivers are more economical than the prior art coupling unit for coupling the transmitter-receiver combination. The transmitters on each side of a receiver pair transmit signals on different carrier frequencies. Each transmitter transmits in both directions from its location. Of the two receivers at a given boundary, one is tuned to respond to signals from the transmitter on one side, while the other receiver of the pair is tuned to respond to signals from the transmitter on the other side. For special applications using overlapping track circuits, selected transmitters may be omitted and a single receiver used on each side of the omitted transmitter.
