Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes an array substrate, a counter-substrate facing the array substrate, a liquid crystal layer provided between the array substrate and the counter-substrate, a first transparent cover member including a first main surface facing the counter-substrate, a second main surface located on a side opposite to the first main surface, and a first side surface extending in a first direction, and a light source applying light toward the first side surface along a second direction intersecting the first direction. The first side surface is a protruding curved surface connecting the first main surface with the second main surface and facing the light source.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a light guide panel; a light source unit including a plurality of light emitting diode elements arranged in an X direction at a position facing a side surface of the light guide panel; and a lens unit arranged between the light guide panel and the light source unit. The light source unit, the lens unit and the light guide panel are arranged in a Y direction crossing the X direction. The lens unit includes: a light entering surface facing the light source unit; and a light emitting surface being opposite to the light entering surface and facing the side surface of the light guide panel. The light entering surface of the lens unit is a concave surface extending in the X direction.

A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel in which liquid crystal is sandwiched between a TFT substrate, having a pixel, and a counter substrate including: a display area being formed in an area in which the TFT substrate and the counter substrate overlap each other, a terminal area being formed on the TFT substrate, in which the counter substrate does not overlap, the terminal area being formed along a first side of the counter substrate which extends in a first direction, a second cover glass being disposed on the counter substrate, and a first cover glass being disposed under the TFT substrate, in which a width of the first cover glass in the first direction is larger than a width of the second cover glass in the first direction.

Abstract: A performance of an apparatus is improved. A display apparatus includes: a light guide panel; a light source unit including a plurality of light emitting diode elements arranged in an X direction at a position facing a side surface of the light guide panel; and a plurality of lenses arranged in the X direction between the light guide panel and the light source unit and adhered to each other while sandwiching an adhesive layer allowing visible light to penetrate therethrough. The adhesive layer is arranged between the sides surfaces facing each other.
