    Abstract: The display device has a first substrate having a display area including pixels and a peripheral area surrounding the display area and including a peripheral circuit, a second substrate arranged facing the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a plurality of gate wirings spaced apart in a first direction in the peripheral circuit of the first substrate, and a plurality of signal lines spaced apart in a second direction intersecting the first direction, wherein the second substrate has a black matrix with a lattice area at a position facing the display area and the peripheral circuit, and the lattice area of the black matrix is arranged to overlap the plurality of gate wirings and the plurality of signal lines of the peripheral circuit.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display region, a peripheral region around the display region, a sealing portion provided in the peripheral region to seal a liquid crystal layer, and a liquid crystal supply portion provided at a part of the sealing portion and interconnecting an outside of the sealing portion and the display region. The peripheral region includes a first peripheral region which is provided between the display region and the sealing portion and from which an insulating film is removed and a second peripheral region which is provided between the display region and the sealing portion and in which the insulating film covering a circuit is formed. A light blocking film arranged so as to straddle the first and second peripheral regions and extending linearly in an extending direction of a boundary between the first and second peripheral regions is formed on a substrate.

    Abstract: A display device according to an aspect includes: an array substrate including a plurality of first light-transmitting electrodes each disposed in a corresponding one of pixels; a counter substrate including positions that overlap the first light-transmitting electrodes in a plan view and are provided with a second light-transmitting electrode; a liquid crystal layer including polymer-dispersed liquid crystals filled between the array substrate and the counter substrate; and at least one light emitter configured to emit light toward a side surface of the counter substrate.     Abstract: A display device includes: an array substrate; a counter substrate; a liquid crystal layer between the array substrate and the counter substrate; and a light source. The array substrate includes: signal lines; scanning lines; a grid-shaped organic insulating layer that extends along the scanning lines and the signal lines and overlies the scanning lines and the signal lines; pixel electrodes provided in regions surrounded by the scanning lines and the signal lines; and a first orientation film that covers the pixel electrodes. A portion of each pixel electrodes overlaps a slant surface of the organic insulating layer. The counter substrate includes: a common electrode overlapping the respective pixel electrodes; a protective film that has an insulating capability and a light transmitting capability and covers a side of the common electrode facing the array substrate at least in the display region; and a second orientation film that covers the protective film.

    Abstract: A display device with a sensor in which the deterioration of display quality is suppressed even when the sensor wires are superimposed on the respective slits of two detection electrodes disposed side by side. The device includes a plurality of detection electrodes, sensor wires, pixels, scanning lines, and signal lines on a first insulating substrate. The detection electrodes are arrayed in a matrix in first direction and second directions. The sensor wires and signal lines are disposed alternately in the first direction and provided on the same layer. Switching elements of two of the pixels disposed side by side in the first direction each are coupled to one of the signal lines, and the signal line is superimposed on the corresponding detection electrode that straddles the two pixels. The sensor wires are disposed between the two pixels and superimposed on the respective slits of the two detection electrodes.
