    摘要: A filter element that has at least two, planar, non-curved filtration panels. In a preferred embodiment, the filter element has three panels, providing a generally triangular filter element. The outlet aperture, from the filter element, generally follows the configuration of the filter. That is, a filter element having three filtration panels will have a generally three-sided outlet aperture. The outlet aperture preferably is not a true polygon, but rather, includes rounded or curved sides and/or corners. The filter element includes an outlet sealing configuration that may provide both axial and radial sealing to outlet ductwork.

The V-pleated media provides increased filter media per given filter volume, extended filter life, and a smaller filter for equivalent filter life. A smaller filter is generally beneficial for some applications such as aircraft, due to its lower weight. Various features of the filter include asymmetric variable pleat heights applied to a cylindrical or obround filter; defined pleat spacing applied to a variable pleat height element; optimal pleat density; and optimal shape of inlet and outlet.

    摘要: A filtration media pack is provided having a plurality of layers of single facer media. The layer of single facer media includes a fluted sheet, a facing sheet, and a plurality of flutes extending between the fluted sheet and the facing sheet and having a flute length extending from a first face of the filtration media pack to a second face of the filtration media pack. A first portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered fluid flowing into the first portion of the plurality of flutes, and a second portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered fluid flowing out of the second portion of the plurality of flutes so that fluid passing into one of the first face and the second face of the media pack and out the other of the first face and the second face of the media pack passes through media to provide filtration of the fluid. The filtration media pack can be provided with increased filtration media compared with commonly used z-media packs. Techniques for increasing the amount of filtration media available for filtration include increasing the flute density, reducing masking, adjusting flute width height ratio, increasing flute density, adjusting flute shape, and reducing plug length. Techniques for increasing performance while reducing initial pressure drop are also provided. A filter element containing the filtration media pack is provided, and the filter element includes a seal member extending around a periphery of the filtration media pack. A method for manufacturing a filtration media pack and a method for using a filtration media pack are provided.
