摘要： Add-on armor protection for a military tank having an externally mounted n gun. Horizontal armor plates are attached to existing upstanding gun cradle wall structure to provide enhanced protection for the driver and commander; an additional armor plate can be mounted at the rear ends of the gun cradle wall structure to protect ammunition stored in rear areas of the hull. The add-on armor components are particularly designed to protect against top attack munitions. Some or all of the armor components can be swingably adjustable to provide alternate protection against enemy ground fire attack.

摘要： Disclosed is an observation system for military land vehicles, comprising ree television cameras and associated receivers. A first camera is located on a forward area of the vehicle for enabling the driver to view the area in the vehicle path. A second television camera is located in a protected area beneath the main gun; the gunner can use the second camera to train the gun on enemy targets. A third television camera is located at an elevated point on one of the trunnion walls for the main gun; the commander uses the third camera to search out new targets and enemy forces.

摘要： In a tank or similar military vehicle having a main weapon located atop a tary basket, the improvement comprising one or more ammunition storage magazines located within the vehicle hull behind the basket. Transfer mechanisms are employed to move individual rounds of ammunition from the storage magazines into a rammer located within the basket. The rammer moves the ammunition round upwardly into the firing chamber of the weapon. The system is designed to provide storage capacity for large numbers of ammunition rounds. Another design objective is to provide a transfer mechanism that accomplishes a weapon loading cycle in a relatively short time span.
