摘要: A method is disclosed for providing entry into a bonus game at a gaming device, where the bonus games may occur at predictable times and may payout predictable amounts. In one or more embodiments, a gaming device may provide a guaranteed entry into a bonus game every hour on the hour, so long as a player meets one or more criteria. Criteria may include a total amount wagered, a total number of handle pulls completed, or a total amount of time spent at a gaming device. One or more embodiments provide a method for withholding value from a player in order that the value may delivered later in the form of a guaranteed entry into a bonus game. One or more embodiments provide a method whereby multiple gaming devices may provide entry in bonus rounds simultaneously, thereby creating mutually reinforcing sounds and visual displays.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention comprises a method including steps of populating a primary set of card positions with a first set of initial cards, determining at least one discarded card from the first set of initial cards, replacing the at least one discarded card from the first set of initial cards with replacement cards to form a final set of cards, and determining whether to include the at least one discarded card in at least one secondary set of card positions. If the at least one discarded card is to be included in the at least one secondary set of card positions, the method further provides for populating the at least one secondary set of card positions with the at least one discarded card. Some embodiments of the present invention also provide for determining a payout based on at least the final set of cards.

摘要: The present invention allows gaming devices to set or modify game parameters through the use of random events such as spinning slot machine reels or random number generators. In some embodiments, game parameters may be established with various initial values, and then, by spinning the gaming devices' reels, for example, random reel values lining up on the payline may be used as new game parameter values. Parameter values may be used to control or initialize almost any aspect of the gaming device play experience, ranging from the types of symbols seen on the reels, to the appearance or behavior of game characters, to the rate at which “complementary” points are awarded.

摘要: The invention provides a digital picture frame that allows a user to edit a displayed picture using simple and intuitive controls. Modifications to an image may be stored by the digital picture frame so that the digital picture frame may later display the edited or modified version of the picture rather than the original version. A user may edit a picture using mechanical controls (e.g., knobs, switches, slider-bars, wheels), sensors (e.g., a position sensor, a tilt sensor, a microphone, a light sensor), a voice recognition module, and/or a touch screen. A digital picture frame may identify a user and based on the user's identity (e.g., the user's preferences or permissions), may display pictures to the user. Further, different users may modify a picture in different ways, so that two different users may view two different versions of the same picture.

摘要: A remote instructional system enables remote users to control a machine which is digitally connected to a host computing device through a human machine interface. This human machine interface includes a software application operating on the host computing device, a digital adapter connecting the host computing device to the machine, a network connecting client computing devices to the host computing machine, and a graphical user interface allowing users of the client computing devices to remotely control the machine. However, the software application of the human machine interface restricts the passage of digital information from the network to the digital adapter through the host computing device to only computing pathways necessary to permit remote client devices to remotely control the machine.

摘要: In a method according to an embodiment of the invention, it is determined whether there is an attempt by a device to access data representing music. If there is such an attempt by the device one of various actions may be performed, such as providing an offer to purchase an item. Determining whether there is such an attempt by the device may include reading data and determining whether the read data includes data representing music.

摘要: A system for testing an engine, the engine including, a drive shaft, and a fluid circulation subsystem, the fluid circulation subsystem having at least one heat exchanger, and a fresh water pump (engine auxiliary water pump). The portable engine test tool can couple to the engine flywheel housing or output shaft of the transmission and can use the fresh water pump of an engine to provide water to an attached or integrated dynamometer and provide braking force to such. In some embodiments the portable engine testing system can use a fresh water supply reservoir.

摘要: A multi-piece intraocular lens (IOL) has an optic constructed of an elastomeric plastic and an opposing pair of attachment members (haptics) constructed of a rigid plastic material. The optic or haptics have one or more small, tear drop-shaped, inlet recesses formed into each from a peripheral edge region. The haptics or optic are formed having peripheral edge protuberances matching in size, shape and position corresponding optic or haptic inlet recesses. The protuberances dovetail into the corresponding inlet recesses and are cemented therein to lock the haptics and optic together. Methods for manufacturing a multi-piece IOL include forming the haptics from a modified haptic blank and the optic from a modified optic blank. After the haptic or optic protuberances are dovetailed and cemented into the optic or haptic inlet recesses, the haptics and optic are milled or lathed from the respective haptic and optic blanks to provide a completed multi-piece IOL.
