A key alignment system for safety interlock switches uses alignment holes, and alignment pins to compensate for misalignment between a body assembly and a key assembly. The misalignment is often due to normal wear and tear or outright abuse of a gate or other movable member that should be safely interlocked. The key is fixed to a floating plate connected to a mounting plate by a suspension. The alignment pins and holes on or in a fixed alignment assembly and the floating plate can move the floating plate into a position such that the key enters the key hole. Some embodiments incorporate the fixed alignment assembly into the body assembly. The normal function of a keyed safety interlock wherein the key can be caught and held or released is preserved and enhanced by compensating for misalignment.

A dual directional cable actuated emergency stop device has two shaft assemblies attachable to two respective cables spanning along an industrial and/or manufacturing operation. The first shaft assembly is slideably disposed within a housing structure and movable relative to said housing structure along a first path in a direction parallel to an axial centerline of said shaft in response to a force exerted by a cable attached to an end of said first shaft. The second shaft assembly is slideably disposed within said housing structure and movable relative to said housing structure along a second path in a direction parallel to an axial centerline of said shaft and opposite movement of said first shaft, in response to a force exerted by a cable attached to an end of said second shaft. A switch operator movable along a second path between a first position and a second position is responsive to movement of said first or second shaft assemblies and is also responsive to a mechanism for locking the switch operator in a second position after said switch operator moves into a second position. At least one electrical switch associated with the device can be actuated when the switch operator is in said second position and deactuated when said switch operator is in said first position. Windows formed on the device housing cover allow a user to monitor tension of first or second cables attached to respective first and second shaft assemblies, based on the position of a cam associated with each shaft assembly.

A threaded adaptor device for connecting two devices wherein one device to be connected has a threaded opening for connection to a wiring harness and the other device has a pin connector element. The adaptor includes a body portion that is threaded for direct attachment to conventional openings in conduits, cables and the like. Extending down from the threaded body portion is a wiring sub assembly that easily connects to the opening of the conduit. The other end of the threaded body portion includes a connector which preferably is a male connector with one or more pins extending out from the body of the device, electrically connected to the wiring harness, and protected by an outer, hollow member into which the device connector is inserted. Another embodiment is the use of a female connector, depending on the design of the device being connected.
