    摘要: A smart card connector for receiving a smart card comprises a spring switch to detect full insertion of the smart card. The spring switch includes a first spring contact and a second spring contact. The first spring contact comprises a body portion, a resilient contact portion and a fixing portion. The second spring contact comprises a body plate and a fixing portion. When a smart card is inserted the connector, the resilient contact portion of the first spring contact is deflected rearward to contact the second spring contact. Thus, force exerted on the contact portion of the first spring contact is transmitted to the fixing portion of the first spring contact with small deformation.

    摘要: A card connector (1) has a U-shaped insulative frame (20), a number of terminals (40), a top metal shell (10) and a bottom metal shell (30). The frame has a transverse base (21) and two perpendicular arms (22, 23). The terminals are retained in the base. The top shell has a plurality of locking holes (17) and the bottom shell has a plurality of locking elements (37) corresponding to the locking holes. The locking holes and the locking elements engage with each other, thus the top shell and the bottom shell interlock each other and enclose the frame therein. A card-receiving space (29) is defined between the shells. In use, the card connector can be embedded in a cutout (21) of a printed circuit board (2) for a smaller thickness thereabove.

    摘要: An audio jack comprises an insulative housing (1) defining a plug insertion hole (104) for receiving a contact of a plug connector, and a plurality of fixing terminals (2) and resilient terminals (3) received in corresponding receiving grooves (120, 140) in both sides of the housing. Each resilient terminal comprises a main body (30), a connecting portion (34) perpendicularly extending from the main body, a resilient arm (35) slantwise extending from the connecting portion round and away from the main body, and a contact portion (36) at a free end of the resilient arm extending toward the main body for connecting with the fixing terminal. Before the plug connector is inserted into the plug insertion hole of the audio jack, the contact portion of the resilient terminal abuts against the fixing terminal. When the plug connector is inserted into the plug insertion hole of the audio jack, the contact of the plug connector pushes the contact portion of the resilient terminal away from the fixing terminal thereby establishing signal transmission between the plug connector and the audio jack. The resilient arm of the resilient terminal has enough length to provide the resiliency needed to restore the contact portion to its original position.

    摘要: A card connector comprises a main body, a cover attached to a bottom face of the main body, and switching means disposed between the main body and the cover. The switching means comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a first leg and a second leg parallel to the first leg. The second leg forms a V-shaped projection adjacent to a free end thereof and projecting beyond a top face of the main body. The free end of the second leg electrically contacts the second portion. When a card is inserted into the card connector, a front edge thereof will slide along the V-shaped projection of the switching means thereby causing the free end of the second leg to electrically disengage from the second portion.

    摘要: A battery connector assembly 1 has a plug connector 2 and a receptacle connector 3 mated with each other. The plug and receptacle connectors are similar in structure. Each has an insulative housing 20, 30 and two sets of conductive plug contacts 4, 5 and 7, 8 engaged in each respective housing. Each housing 20, 30 respectively has a side 22, 81 having a step-shaped surface, and forms a lower step 28, 86 and an upper step 25, 88. Each step forms a row of partitions 220, 280, 810, 880 and defines a row of slots 221, 281, 811, 881 separated from each other by the partitions. The row of slots in each lower step is horizontally offset from the row of slots in each upper step. The amount of offset is half a pitch, the pitch being the distance between adjacent contacts. The sets of conductive contacts in the lower and upper steps of the plug connector are mated with complementary sets of contacts in the upper and lower steps of the receptacle connector, respectively. The assembly permits a great number of conductive contacts within a compact space.
