摘要： A luminescence driving apparatus, a display apparatus, and a driving method thereof are provided. The luminescence driving apparatus drives a plurality of light-emitting units and includes: a voltage sensor which senses internal voltages of the plurality of light-emitting units; a current sensor which senses internal currents of the plurality of light-emitting units; a sensing signal generator which receives the internal voltages of the plurality of light-emitting units from the voltage sensor to generate an overvoltage sensing signal; a controller which, if it is determined that an overvoltage state has occurred, according to a level of the overvoltage sensing signal, searches for at least one of the plurality of light-emitting units in which the overvoltage state has occurred, according to levels of the internal currents sensed by the current sensor; and a protector which performs an overvoltage protection (OVP) operation with respect to the searched light-emitting unit.

摘要： An apparatus and a method for common use of a power supply and a display apparatus using the same are provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel, a backlight unit which provides backlight to the display panel, and a power supply unit for common use which comprises an adjusting circuit unit comprising a plurality of resistances, and provides a current of a magnitude corresponding to a combination state of the plurality of resistances to the backlight unit. Accordingly, the power supply apparatus for common use adjusts an output current easily and is commonly used for diverse display apparatuses, and thus a manufacturing process is efficiently improved.

The luminescence driving apparatus includes: a driving circuit which is connected to a light-emitting device and drives the light-emitting device according to a control pulse having a fluctuating amplitude; a controller which, if an internal current of the light-emitting device is less than or equal to a threshold value, selects a position from among a plurality of different positions of the driving circuit based on the amplitude of the control pulse, senses a voltage at the selected position and determines whether a short-circuit has occurred between the light-emitting device and the driving circuit using a level of the sensed voltage; and a protector which if it is determined that the short-circuit has occurred, performs a protection operation with respect to the light-emitting device.

The light-emitting apparatus includes a light emitting part; a power supplying part; a switching part which is serially coupled to the light emitting part; and a control part which compares a switch voltage level with a comparison level, and controls the power supplying part to supply the driving power having a voltage level decreased by a reference level if the switch voltage level is higher than the comparison level. The control method includes supplying a driving power to the light emitting part; emitting light; measuring a switch voltage level across the switching part, and decreasing a voltage level of the driving power by a reference level if the switch voltage level is higher than the comparison level.

摘要： An apparatus for driving an LED is provided. The driving apparatus may have an LED unit including at least one LED, and a current controlling unit for controlling the magnitude of current flowing through the LED unit in response to a control signal. The LED driving apparatus may include a voltage detecting unit for detecting a voltage across the LED unit and a control signal blocking unit for comparing the voltage detected by the voltage detecting unit with a reference voltage. The control signal blocking part prevents the control signal from being applied to the current controlling unit when the detected voltage is lower than the reference voltage. With this configuration, the LED driving apparatus is capable of preventing a circuit from being damaged by overcurrent by cutting off a control signal when a determined number or more of LEDs are short-circuited or otherwise not operational.
