摘要: The present invention relates to a display apparatus comprising a light emitting element supplying light, and a switch to switch on and off power, which is supplied to the light emitting element. A comparing unit compares a predetermined first reference voltage and an output voltage which is proportional to a current applied to the light emitting element. A controller compares a comparison voltage output, which is a comparison result of the comparing unit and a predetermined second reference voltage, in order to control the switch to be switched on and off. Accordingly, the present invention provides a display apparatus and control method which precisely controls a size of a current applied to a light emitting element.

摘要: A backlight unit driving apparatus is provided. The backlight unit driving apparatus includes a plurality of flash lamps at a backlight unit to supply light to a liquid crystal panel, supplies voltage necessary for discharge, and supplies a discharge initiating voltage so that the flash lamps can emit lights in a sequential order. Accordingly, motion picture characteristics improve, and good screen brightness is maintained.

The display apparatus has a plurality of light emitting units, a power driver, whose total provided therein is less than the total of light emitting units, that outputs driving power to the light emitting units. A power switch is switched on and off to supply the driving power to one of the plurality of light emitting units, and a controller controls the power switch to sequentially supply the driving power to the plurality of light emitting units.

摘要: Provided is a load driving device controlling a drive of a load including a driver for periodically turning on/off a current according to a switching clock signal and supplying a average driving current to the load. Further provided is a dimming controller for controlling the driver to turn on/off the drive of the load based on a dimming step. Also provided is a controller for controlling at least one of the driver and the dimming controller so as to make a step interval of the dimming step and a switching clock period of the switching clock signal the same. A load driving device is provided that is capable of stably controlling the dimming of a drive of a load, by improving a linear response characteristic of a driving current according to a dimming control.

摘要: The present invention provides a display apparatus and method supplying power to a light source where driving power is supplied to the light source, a main power path is provided through which the driving power is supplied from the power supply to the light source, a standby power path is branched from the main power path and returned to the power supply, a switching unit selects the driving power to be supplied from the power supply to either of the main power path or the standby power path, a standby power adjuster adjusts standby power applied to the standby power path and a controller controls the standby power adjuster to make the standby power be within an allowable range when the power is not applied to the main power path. Accordingly, a display apparatus and method which prevent a standby power from being continuously boosted up when a light source is turned off, thereby improving a display performance thereof are provided.

摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling emission of light are provided. The light emitting apparatus comprises a plurality of first light emitting parts which are connected with each other in series, a first current supply which supplies a current to the plurality of first light emitting parts, a plurality of switches which are respectively connected with the plurality of first light emitting parts in parallel to make the current be transmitted to or bypass the first light emitting parts and a controller which receives brightness information corresponding to the respective first light emitting parts and controls the plurality of first switches to make overall light emitting time of the first light emitting parts within time intervals correspond to a brightness level of the brightness information. The present invention provides an apparatus and method for emitting light by driving a plurality of light emitting parts to independently emit light in various brightness levels with a simplified circuit configuration and improved efficiency.
