    摘要: A system for efficiently transmitting requests for data access from a wireless communications device to a radio access network. Requests for data access may be aggregated to more efficiently use radio resources. Aggregated requests may not be transmitted until a total number of requests or size of aggregated requests exceeds a threshold. Regardless of aggregation, requests may be stored until a timer expires, and then transmitted to the radio access network. Request priority, environmental data, and device data may be taken into account in determining when to transmit requests for data access.

    摘要: Mobile terminals, such as cell phones, having an internal memory and operating in a GSM wireless network environment with a SIM, store private content such as images, ring tones, buddy lists, email and the like, in the terminal memory. The private content is associated with the IMSI/MSISDN information of the content owner. The terminal correlates the IMSI/MSISDN information of the SIM with the IMSI/MSISDN information of the private content to grant access to the content only upon a positive content/SIM correlation.

    摘要: Apparatus and a method of securing private content stored in a memory are presented. A terminal includes a memory configured to store a private content identifier associated with private content. The private content identifier includes a mobile station integrated services digital network number of a smart card associated with a user that is authorized to access the private content. A particular smart card includes a smart card identifier associated with the particular smart card. The terminal also includes a security function configured to perform a comparison of the private content identifier to the smart card identifier and to deny access to the private content when a result of the comparison is negative.

Flexible user-established rules, customized in a subscriber profile database, enable the ring-tone to vary based on caller-id, caller priority, call-urgency (as determined by caller), call context and so forth. Call set-up logic applies the profile rules prior to completing the call set-up. “Buzz-tones” extend the basic distinctive ringing feature to the “silent” mode that is currently available on cell-phones, which is of particular utility to subscribers with hearing disabilities. Other kinds of alerts (audio/motion/visual) like flashing colors on a display, moving pictures and the like, and any combination of notification modes, are contemplated by alternative embodiments.

    摘要: A method and system to provide service availability to multi-mode terminals in different access networks is presented. In an embodiment, a computer-readable medium includes instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to automatically enable first call forwarding prior to a wireless multi-mode communication terminal access from a first communication network to a second communication network, where first calls are redirected from a first directory number of the first communication network to a second directory number of the second communication network. The computer-readable medium also includes additional instructions that, when executed by the computer, cause the computer to automatically disable second call forwarding subsequent to the wireless multi-mode communication terminal access change when the second call forwarding conflicts with the enabled first call forwarding. The second call forwarding includes redirecting incoming second calls to a first directory number of the first communication network.
