摘要: An inflator includes a plate-like retainer that is placed in a pressure container of the inflator for producing gas to be supplied to an airbag. At the center of the inflator is formed a fitting section fitted to a tube placed in the pressure container. The tube separates an ignition source and a gas generation agent. At least one pressure release hole is provided on the outer side of the outer periphery of the fitting section. The retainer has a step formed at a portion where the outer periphery of the retainer is in contact with the filter. The retainer and inflator may have simple structures not affecting productivity and reliably preventing gas leakage between the retainer and a filter.

摘要: A small, lightweight, and inexpensive gas generator for an airbag device. The gas generator for an airbag device according to the present invention includes: a deployment activating initiator that accommodates a predetermined amount of ignition powder and is activated by an impact on a vehicle; a main gas generating agent that generates a main gas for inflating an airbag when burned; a main gas generation chamber that accommodates the main gas generating agent; a secondary gas generation chamber that is provided in an interior of the main gas generation chamber and accommodates the initiator; and a secondary gas generating agent accommodated in the secondary gas generation chamber.

摘要: An airbag device may include a gas generator comprising: an initiator that is activated by an impact on a vehicle; an ignition agent that is ignited by the initiator; an ignition agent housing chamber that houses the ignition agent; a gas generating agent that is ignited and burned by the ignition agent; and a combustion chamber housing the gas generating agent. An airbag may be inflated by a gas generated by the combustion of the gas generating agent. Further, the ignition agent housing chamber is only partially filled with the ignition agent, thereby forming a space in the ignition agent housing chamber that is not filled with the ignition agent.

摘要: To ensure that a wire wound filter can be incorporated into a base of a pressure vessel easily, the present invention provides an airbag inflator in which a pressure vessel 2 constituted by a base 2b and a diffuser 2a accommodates an igniter 3, a gas generating agent 4, a filter 21, and an inner cover 24 that covers the gas generating agent 4 and includes a bent portion 24a that contacts an inner wall of the filter 21. The filter 21 has a layered structure constituted by an inner filter 22 wound into a cylindrical shape, in which upper and lower end surfaces are formed in a tapered shape that decreases in height toward an outer peripheral side, and a wire mesh outer filter 23 that is fitted over an outer peripheral surface of the inner filter 22, excluding at least respective end portions formed in the tapered shape, and has a slightly larger outer diameter than an inner diameter of the base 2b. The filter 21 is press-fitted into the base 2b. Thus, the filter can be incorporated into the base easily. Further, close contact with the inner cover can be maintained when the diffuser and the base are integrated by welding.

摘要: An airbag inflator in which a pressure vessel constituted by a base and a diffuser accommodates an igniter, a gas generating agent, a filter, and an inner cover that covers the gas generating agent and includes a bent portion that contacts an inner wall of the filter. The filter has a layered structure constituted by an inner filter and a wire mesh outer filter. The inner filter is of a cylindrical shape, in which upper and lower end portions are formed in a tapered shape that decreases in height toward an outer peripheral side. The wire mesh outer filter is fitted over an outer peripheral surface of the inner filter, excluding at least the respective end portions formed in the tapered shape, and has a slightly larger outer diameter than an inner diameter of the base. The filter is press-fitted into the base. Thus, the filter can be incorporated into the base easily. Further, close contact with the inner cover can be maintained when the diffuser and the base are integrated by welding.

摘要: A laser beam-detonatable blasting cap containing secondary explosives charged therein in the upper and lower portions, wherein the explosive charged in the upper portion contains a laser beam-absorbing black material and is contacted with an optical fiber at the top. The loading density of the explosive charged in the lower portion is higher than that of the explosive charged in the higher portion, and only the side of the explosive charged in the upper portion is surrounded with a restraining wall. The blasting cap can be easily and surely detonated by a laser beam having a low peak output power generated by means of a pulse-oscillation system without using Q-switching or a continous oscillation system.
