    摘要: A disk drive has an actuator coil that includes first and second lateral legs joined by first and second longitudinal legs to form a closed coil periphery. The first lateral leg is disposed closer to the actuator pivot bore than the second lateral leg. The first and second longitudinal legs join the second lateral leg at a first interior bend location and at a second interior bend location within the closed coil periphery, respectively. A bobbin is disposed within the closed coil periphery and contacts the conductive coil at two locations (e.g. the first interior bend location and the second interior bend location). Preferably, the bobbin defines a total bobbin length and an average bobbin width, and the total bobbin length is at least 3 times the average bobbin width.

A first suspension assembly has a first swage boss that protrudes into the swaging hole. Each of the first and second swage bosses includes an inner lip that extends radially closer to the swaging axis than any other part of that swage boss. The sleeve can have a first contact surface that extends in a direction transverse to the axis. A spindle is rotationally received within the bore, and the spindle and the sleeve permit relative rotational movement when the spindle is positioned within the bore. The spindle has a stopper with a second contact surface that extends in a direction transverse to the axis when the spindle is positioned within the bore. A portion of at least one of the first and second contact surfaces includes a softer material than that of the spindle and the bearing sleeve, and the first and second contact surfaces are configured to engage each other upon relative axial movement between the spindle and the sleeve.

    摘要: A pure rotary microactuator comprising a spring assembly etched within a silicon substrate is disclosed. A first piezoelectric device is coupled with a first portion of the spring assembly and a second piezoelectric device coupled with a second portion of the spring assembly. The first piezoelectric device changes shape in response to an electrical input signal, and this change in shape provides a first push force to the first portion of the spring assembly in a first direction. The second piezoelectric device also changes shape in response to the electrical input signal, and this change in shape provides a second push force to the second portion in a second direction, which is different from the first direction. The combination of the first and the second push forces rotates the spring assembly with respect to the silicon substrate.
