摘要: A valve sealing flange for sealing fluid ports in a valve is provided, comprising a flexible planar portion having first and second opposed surfaces, spaced-apart, elongated, tapered protrusions extending upwardly from the first surface of said sealing flange, the protrusions being configured and positioned on the surface of the planar portion to mate with fluid ports located within a side surface of a valve when the valve sealing flange is placed thereon to effect sealing of the ports, and spaced-apart protrusions extending from the second surface of thesealing flange, the protrusions being of such configuration and spacing to support the sealing flange in a substantially level position when attached to the valve.

摘要: A method and system for transparently combining remote and local storage to provide an extended file system such as a virtual local drive for a computer system client/user, e.g., a user of a pocket sized personal computer or a cable set-top box. A client device may load file system object data, storing the directories and files remotely, and retrieving the files only when required. Via its local storage, the extended file system handles unreliable connections and delays. When a connection to an extended file system server is present, the extended file system provides automatic downloading of information that is not locally cached, and automatically uploading of information that has been modified on the client. Extended file system attributes are employed to determine the actual location of file system data, and a lightweight protocol is defined to download or upload remote data by low-level components that make the remote source transparent from the perspective of the application. The system scales to large networks as it employs the lightweight protocol and establishes a connection only to retrieve and submit data.

摘要: An improved dynamic range dimmer for gas discharge lamps is provided in which the frequency is shifted during the startup of the lamp, and the frequency is shifted and the duty cycle is varied to dim the light emitted by the lamp. When dimming is desired the frequency is shifted to increase the voltage available to the lamp, which then has its power reduced by controlling its duty cycle. Such an arrangement provides a greater range of light intensity variation. If the lamp is turned off while set to a dimmed level, then the frequency is automatically restored to the resonant value used when starting the lamp, to assure breakdown of the plasma in the lamp for proper ignition.

摘要: A fully and continuously vented drinking cup or container for infants and children, which consists of a vessel or container for containing a liquid or formula, having a resilient spout which rests upon its uppermost edge. The interior aspects of the feeding spout, and the feeding diaphragm, are all molded so as to arrange the diaphragm slit, or opening through which the liquid flows, in a position that will be vertically aligned between the lips of the infant feeding, to thereby allow the infant to open the spout and allow the liquid to flow, just as if the child is drinking from a cup. The diaphragm may be shaped concavely, with respect to the structure of the feeding spout. A cap firmly approximates the interior aspects of the feeding spout, and applies it to the top or upper edge of the container, whereby a leak proof seal is formed therebetween, but yet allows air to enter between its retaining collar, and the vent tube and reservoir tube, to allow air access into the container, as liquid is being drank therefrom.

摘要: A nursing bottle formed of a large volume container, incorporating a vent tube that extends to vent pressure at all times. The nursing bottle may have a cylindrical shape or other configuration that prevents formula placed therein from blocking the vent tube regardless of its angular disposition. The vent tube extends distally from the vent insert, operatively associated with a collar, that holds the vent structures and the nipple to the wide rimmed opening. In addition, the vent tube has a conical shape of decreasing diameter distally toward the center of the bottom to dissipate the pressure that may cause leakage from the bottle. Further, the vent insert has a major and minor seal that prevents leaks out of the collar and onto an infant.

摘要: A drug delivery device that aerosolizes a dry powder formulation so that it forms a fine coating in the oral cavity and, more specifically, in the sublingual region of the oral cavity is described herein. In the preferred embodiment, the device contains five main parts: (i) a compressed gas canister, (ii) a dispenser body (also referred to herein as the main housing), (iii) a means for storing one or more doses of a drug formulation, (iv) a means for releasing a dose of the drug formulation such as a gas canister or spring piston and (v) a mouthpiece. Preferred configurations include circular, tubular, and rectangular. The means for storing the drug formulation may be configured to separately store one or more materials. In one embodiment, the means for storing the active agent is in the form of one or more drug discs, where the drug discs contain a plurality of blister packs, each storing one dose of the drug formulation. In another embodiment, the means for storing the active agent is a dosage cartridge containing a single dose of the drug formulation. In yet another embodiment, the drug formulation is stored on a ribbon containing a plurality of blister packs, each storing one dose of the drug formulation.
