    摘要: A tunable duty cycle electrical return-to-zero (RZ) modulation method is realized through tuning of some electrical parameters of an encoder without the need for expensive and/or bulky optical pulse carver, therefore providing a universal RZ apparatus suitable for various high speed applications such as at 10 Gb/s, 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s. The electrical RZ modulation scheme is readily combined with other known modulation technologies on the transmitter side to support low cost RZ modulation for metro, long haul and submarine systems.

In one example an optical dispersion compensator is coupled to an input optical fiber to receive an optical signal and compensate the optical dispersion of the received optical signal, the optical dispersion compensator being configured to compensate the dispersion of a partial response modulation and coding transmitter. A photodetector converts the dispersion compensated optical signal to an electrical signal, and a demultiplexer demultiplexes the electrical signal.

For data to be displayed, dividing a complete effective output enable (OE) time that is greater than one serial shift cycle into several unit serial shift cycles and uniformly distributing the effective OE time for display. The method implements the uniform distribution of the display time to the maximum extent by using an OE signal under the condition that the whole display time remains unchanged, thereby increasing effective output number of the uniform distribution, uniformly maintaining a display effect and steadily improving a refresh rate effect, so as to effectively increase a display quality and avoid a significant loss of brightness.

    摘要: An apparatus for optical receiver circuit protection includes a bias source, a bias monitor, and a comparator. The bias source is to provide a bias voltage to an optical receiver. The bias monitor is coupled to measure a current through the optical receiver, where the current changes responsive to received optical energy. A comparator is coupled to the bias monitor, where the comparator has a first state if the current is less than a threshold current level and where the comparator has a second state if the current is greater than the threshold current level. The bias source is coupled to be enabled responsive to the comparator switching to the first state and disabled responsive to the comparator switching to the second state.
