    摘要: A flat fluorescent lamp includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a first fluorescent layer, a second fluorescent layer, a combining member and a contacting layer. The second substrate is combined with the first substrate to form a plurality of discharge chambers spaced apart from each other. The first fluorescent layer is formed on an inner surface of the first substrate, and the second fluorescent layer is formed on an inner surface of the second substrate. The combining member is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The contacting layer is formed between the discharge chambers. Thus, mercury vapor in a flat fluorescent lamp may be prevented from migrating due to a temperature difference between discharge chambers, and luminescence characteristics of a flat fluorescent lamp may be improved.

    摘要: Various structures are disclosed to provide flat fluorescent lamps adapted to provide improved optical characteristics by reducing sodium elution from one or more glass plates. Related methods of manufacture are also provided. In one example, a flat fluorescent lamp includes a first plate and a second plate adapted to form a plurality of discharge chambers in combination with the first plate. A first elution preventive layer is provided on an inner surface of the second plate. A first fluorescent layer is provided above an inner surface of the first plate. A second fluorescent layer is provided above the first elution preventive layer. In another example, the first and second plates comprise sodalime glass. In another example, the elution preventive layer is adapted to prevent sodium eluted from the second plate from exceeding a predetermined sodium elution amount.

    摘要: An optical member includes a first liquid crystal assembly and a second liquid crystal assembly. The first liquid crystal assembly has a liquid crystal layer aligned in a first direction. Light polarized in the first direction is reflected from the first liquid crystal assembly. The second liquid crystal assembly is positioned on the first liquid crystal assembly. The second liquid crystal assembly has a liquid crystal layer aligned in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction. Light polarized in the second direction is reflected from the second liquid crystal assembly. Therefore, an image display quality is improved.

    摘要: In a planar light source and an LCD apparatus having the planar light source, the planar light source includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a supporting member, a connecting member, and a connecting passage. The first substrate, the second substrate, the supporting member, the connecting member, and the connecting passage are configured to define a discharge space. The second substrate is spaced apart from the first substrate. The supporting member is disposed between the first and second substrates. The connecting member is connected to the supporting member and disposed between the first and second substrates. The connecting passage is formed in the connecting member. The connecting passage provides a gas-flow path between the discharge space and an outside of the connecting member. Therefore, light emission characteristics of the planar light source are improved and a thickness of the LCD apparatus is decreased.

    摘要: In a surface light source, a display apparatus having the surface light source and a liquid crystal display apparatus having the surface light source, the surface light source includes a body, a voltage supplying unit, a conductive body and a visible light generating part. The body includes a plurality of discharge portions. The voltage supplying unit is disposed on an outer surface of the body to generate an invisible light. The conductive body is disposed on an inner surface of the body corresponding to the voltage supplying unit. The visible light generating part is disposed in the discharge portions to generate a visible light based on the invisible light. Therefore, a luminance of the visible light is increased and uniformized. In addition, a start voltage of the surface light source is decreased so that a power consumption of the surface light source may be decreased.
