    摘要: Teachings herein offer reduced-complexity coordinated multipoint (CoMP) reception of an uplink signal transmitted by a mobile terminal. The teachings obtain, for each sector antenna in a set of sector antennas deployed in a CoMP cell, a signal strength measurement of one or more downlink signals received by the mobile terminal from a sector associated with that sector antenna. The teachings compare the signal strength measurements and then select from the set, based on that comparison, a subset of sector antennas for CoMP reception of the uplink signal. By using a subset of sector antennas for CoMP reception, instead of all sector antennas in the set, the teachings reduce the computational complexity of CoMP reception. Moreover, the teachings in some embodiments minimize any performance degradation possibly resulting from performing CoMP reception with a reduced number of antennas, by selecting the subset to include sector antennas having the strongest signal strength measurements.
