摘要： A highly controllable way to light target areas includes a primary reflector which generates a defined primary beam in association with a light source. The primary beam, or at least a portion of the primary beam, is directed onto a secondary reflector which generates a secondary beam to the target space. Other options, enhancements, alternatives, and features are possibly utilized in the principles of the present invention whereby a primary light source is reflected off of a secondary reflector means. The secondary reflector can be configured in any number of contours, shapes, specularities, or other characteristics to alter and control the characteristics of the secondary beam.Various options, alternatives, and features are possible with the invention. For example, a plurality of light sources and primary reflectors can be used with one secondary reflector. The surface of the secondary reflector can be corrugated to have alternating segments to direct light in different directions. A combination of light source, primary reflector, and secondary reflector can also be positioned on a moveable base. A plurality of secondary reflectors and light sources and primary reflectors can be positioned on one moveable base and can be oriented in different configurations for different lighting effects.

摘要： A wide area lighting fixture includes a relatively large visor extending from a bowl shaped fixture reflector. The distal portion of the visor extends relatively far outwardly and downwardly and around the fixture opening. In operating position, the visor blocks most or all off field direct view of the light source in the fixture. Optionally a light absorbing surface or insert can be placed at the very bottom of the bowl shaped reflector to absorb or otherwise stop light that otherwise might go off-field to further control spill light, glare, and sky glow or uplight.

This invention supplies a way to light the underside of an airplane while, for example, a wing is being painted. A light source is place a substantial distance away from the wing of the airplane to be painted. The light source includes a primary reflector to direct the light. A secondary reflector is placed at such a location that light emitting from the light source would be reflected to the underside of the airplane wing.
