    摘要: A safety or sports cone with controlled illumination is provided that is durable and easy to use. The cone has a light-transmitting body with an illumination device housing integrated into the top of the body that houses an illumination device that rests on a support ring and is accessed by a housing cap. The illumination device includes a light-emitting diode (LED) module, an LED actuator, a battery, and a battery housing. The illumination device is covered by a protective transparent shell. A reflective platform increases the illumination intensity at the top of the cone and provides additional protection from physical damage and contaminants. The illumination is activated and deactivated by pressing the center of the housing cap to affect the LED actuator. One or more ridges extending from the inner surface of the body below the support ring prevent unwanted activation of the illumination device during cone stacking.

The shell is formed having an outer wall surrounding an internal chamber. The internal chamber includes a wedge-shaped portion which carries a wedge-shaped luminaire. An upwardly-extending tube is carried by the base. The tube is nested within the internal chamber and carries the shell. A power source is provided which provides electricity to the luminaire. A wireless transmitter is provided which is used by a user to turn the luminaire on and off, which luminaire provides visual signals to the race participants.

    摘要: An illumination device for use in daylight conditions includes a light-diffusing member provided with one or more dyes and a light source extending along and positioned adjacent a light-receiving surface of the light-diffusing member, with the light source emitting light that is substantially unabsorbed by the dyes as it passes through the light-diffusing member. Accordingly, in daylight conditions, the dyes are activated by sunlight to emit light such that light perceived along a light-emitting surface of the light-diffusing member is a combination of light from said light source and light from the dyes, thus increasing the output of the illumination device in daylight conditions.

    摘要: A traffic safety control security system is described. Warning lights, signs, and warning flags are connected and secured to the tops of standard traffic cones either with or without the use of cone adapters. One end of a stainless steel aircraft cable connects directly to the traffic control accessories, while the other end of the cable is secured by a removable security disc and padlock within the traffic cone. Interconnecting the accessory and traffic cone together prevents injury to vehicles or individuals nearby if a traffic cone is accidentally struck by a vehicle, or encounters violent weather, causing the accessory to fly loose as a projectile. In addition a chain can now interconnect traffic cones in the system together, preventing theft of the traffic cones and/or accessories. Set up and knock down of the system is consistent with customary traffic safety control procedures.

    摘要: The invention relates to signalling, particularly road signalling, means. A considerable variety of illuminated and reflective signalling means are known to give advice to the driver of a particular vehicle and of great value to the driver of a vehicle during the hours of darkness on unlit roads or in inclement weather where mist and fog shroud a road. Such known signalling means cannot satisfy the important need to give advice to a driver of a vehicle of the presence of another vehicle closely ahead, and which is of particular importance in misty or foggy conditions. The primary objective of the invention is to provide a signalling means that can satisfy this requirement, which objective is met by a construction comprising at least one means (7, C3) able to be charged by light from a vehicle headlight, and a visible signal means (8; 13, 15) connected to and activated by said chargeable means (7, C3), and whereby on being charged, said chargeable means (7, C3) activates said signal means (8; 13, 15) for a discrete period of time after said headlight has ceased to illuminate said chargeable means (7, C3) and until said chargeable means (7, C3) has discharged. As a result, a trail of signals is permanently provided behind a lead vehicle to give warning to a vehicle behind of its presence and to a distance that constitutes a safe braking distance.

    摘要: A highly controllable way to light target areas includes a primary reflector which generates a defined primary beam in association with a light source. The primary beam, or at least a portion of the primary beam, is directed onto a secondary reflector which generates a secondary beam to the target space. The secondary reflector can be configured in any number of contours, shapes, specularities, or other characteristics to alter and control the characteristics of the secondary beam.Various options, alternatives, and features are possible with the invention. For example, a plurality of light sources and primary reflectors can be used with one secondary reflector. The surface of the secondary reflector can be corrugated to have alternating segments to direct light in different directions. A combination of light source, primary reflector, and secondary reflector can also be positioned on a moveable base. A plurality of secondary reflectors and light sources and primary reflectors can be positioned on one moveable base and can be oriented in different configurations for different lighting effects.
